As far as Christian connection...The resort (friends are the owners) is host to YWAM (youth with a mission) which is a non-denominational Christian network, and thru whom the wilderness school is orchestrated. We're not part of YWAM, just friends/guest speakers.
Cat's out of the bag...I'm a non-denom Christian, albeit a little 'out of the norm'!!!! :D ...and you're obviously not in fear of any bible thumping from me, I'm just here offering my friendship and some good shared fun!!! :DD

Myself, I'm in the don't know category... I want to believe it .. I find the words of Jesus inspirational and deeply moving ... I've read a lot of books by believers and sceptics/atheists... .and I'm still trying to make my mind up.
However, when KK was born and was poorly ..... it was God that I prayed to ..... and I guess he answered me :))

my being an early bird has its merit, 'cause I get a wee bit o blogging in before we're off... :D
Chef probably is Canky. Dave does have anger towards women in the sense of the man getting the raw deal, I believe. Maybe he had an over-bearing mother, or was passed up and a woman got the promotion scenario???
His views of Bosnia are not far off...I've heard the same, and about the emasculation; altho the violence against women I think still has the higher %...hmmm, I could google that, but not today.
Dave isn't completely anti-woman...soon after the birth of his 4th...he made a comment complimenting women/mothers and their care of the child afterwards (at all hours) and for their home/family, care of. It wasn't as it's their place, as a chauvanist would say, he just sounded happy and thankful.

to be honest, I was surprised at how fast Canky withdrew? of course, I didn't read some of the troll's posts as they were deleted.
Canky, like us, all in all liked Dave, tho he had his true or wind-up anti-wimin attitude issues (what men don't have issues with us at least once a month-we can be terrible to be about!! ;) ),
....and, like AJ said on one of the threads, Dave seemed genuine. I think Canky's feelings were hurt. :(
It seems at times that the Scotsman is just a venue to let rip with intolerent outpourings of malice. If you aren't prepared to say such things openly as opposed to within the anonymity that the Scotsman provides, then don't say them at all. Dave overstepped the mark with Canky and she was justifiably upset, he seems to forget that it's not about scoring points off your fellow commentors but an opportunity to vent a little frustration or share a little humour.

Dave definitely has anger issues towards women...
His views about Bosnia are specious to say the least. Yes, male rape did occur there but there were a hell of a lot more female rapes.
I know some wartime male rapes are carried out for dominance but.. so are female rapes and there is also lust to take into account. Most men are hetereosexual and they were also trying to carry out genetic change by empregnating the women.
Whatever, Dave says there are more rapes carried out against women and children in the world than there are against men.
However, I know that many male rapes like male domestic violence go unreported.... but then so do a lot of female ones.
Dave appears to be OK as long as the woman in question doesn't disagree with his ideas of male = dominant and female = subservient. I have disagreed with him and he has got nasty... Canky has disagreed with him very, very forcibly and he invents his little troll and turns nasty.
The very derogatory remarks he directed at women on one of the boards that Chef pointed out.... are not the words of a man who likes women. I would say they are the words of a bully who despises women and he may well be mentally and physically abusive towards them.
I think that is what Canky the police officer can see too.
Either that or his wife has him by the b@lls and this is the only outlet for his manhood!! :D
