Can't keep up with your madness this morning Anna. I just thought you like the guinness with G&T chasers - like a real professional:D

Anonymous said...

I'm not keen on beer to be absolutely honest. I like most spirits tho'!! Whisky & lemonade, Jack Daniels & coke & gin & tonic are the favourites tho' :D

I also prefer white wine to red and I quite like port and lemon as well (Hilda Ogden used to drink that in Coronation Street!!) :D

I starting to sound like a right boozer!

Enjoy your walk.....:))

Does the Save the Children CD have the song "Whats that coming over the hill is it a monster?" Kit Kat is completely nuts about that one ... he's always singing it ...

So, if its on that CD .. I might get it for him.

anna said...

Right I've put a photo of the 'mad gin drinking woman' on ...

Don't laugh too much!!!

anna said...

It was the best I could find ..... not that there was a lot of choice!! :(

Good morning!! okay, who are the gas-bags, now!! :D

Joleni, you look great!! :)) All right, the pressure is on, now to get something current...I'll see if I can get my technical advisor (my teen) to get a photo before tonite's party...I really have nothing current, solo, only fam pictures

Did I take advantage of you, AJ, well, then apologies!! ;)) It all worked out well, though!!! :))

Hope your day is going well, all!!
Will check back here, to take a break and sit, hopefully!!!

Peajay, busy??!!

AJ Fife said...

Anna,

Not a grey hair in sight!:)) Very nice!

AJ Fife said...

It's good to put a face to the text!!:D

Hi Melanie, look forward to it!:))

Anonymous said...

Hi all,

Yes, come on Melanie ..... you shirking .... we need a photo!! :))

That one of me was taken this summer .... hence the tan altho' I do have quite a few freckles which join up a bit more in the summer!! :D

It is nice to know what people look like when you've been 'chatting' of a while :))

Peajay said...

Good evening all,
Sorry for recent absence been a bit snowed under and not necessarily good company.

Look at you with the photos etc. how quickly you've grasped these technical aspects. Well done to you both. (and not at all scary, although I was starting to worry where you were going with the gin analogy Anna) :D My photo with the Guinness was taken at the Guinness brewery, Dublin where you get a free pint after the tour.

How's the party progressing Melanie?

AJ Fife said...

Hi Peajay,

Hope you are feeling chilled now, sounds like you've had a tough few days!

Isn't it good to have an image of everyone now?:)

Can't wait to see Melanie on her horse!

Anna, there is nothing sexual in what I just said:D

Anonymous said...

AJ ..... I know!! :))

I haven't seen a picture of Melanie yet.... so I'm still in the dark on what she looks like. She's a dark horse ... to me :)

I'm having a post on the blog about the Policeman who was upset about being called a F****** Pom by a Ned that he arrested in Dundee or somewhere in Chilly Jocko Land .... oops sorry AJ was that a racist remark?

Some Kiwi is arguing with me!!

I've also been having a very brief chat with Eve on the 700 year old battle blog but I can't be bothered with her anymore .... because she's a bit of a one trick pony...... and I find her a bit boring when I can decipher her posts to be honest :D Plus she doesn't understand sarcasm or know what Trafalgar was ....... so I don't care how many degrees she claims to have I think she's a bit thick. :)

Have either of your posted on the Scotsman today?

Peajay, it took me a while to get to grips with the blogger thing and how to post a photo ...... I lost it at one point and nearly gave up but then it came back ... its a complete mystery to me really.

Do you play Scrabble or Trivial Pursuit btw Peajay? AJ and Melanie seem to think that we would.... play those games :))

Actually I do enjoy both of them - so they were right :D

Peajay said...

Anna
Don't you love it when the technology works and you have no idea why or how. :)

Give up on Eve, she's a lightweight, although you could consider it a challenge and try to educate the 'child'.

Off ta ma bed now, g'nite all. Have to work tomorrow so hope you all ahve a good day.

AJ Fife said...

Melanie,

How was the party? or is it still under way!:)

Hope you don't feel under pressure to get Trigger out and start posing!!:))

AJ Fife said...

Anna and Peajay,

Although I doubt if you two watch the X Factor, but did you think the shocking decision to dump the MacD brothers was a racist attack on the whole of Scotland!!?;)

How did the wee guy beat them, he's only 7 and looks like the wee boy in the Adams Family!!:)

btw Good morning

Anonymous said...

You're right AJ .... I don't watch the X Factor :) But, it probably was a racist attack on the whole of Scotland and every Scot that ever lived anywhere in the world, ever (especially that 700 year old Mel Gibson look alike Wallace geezer)!! :DD

How are you this morning? We've just nipped out to Aldi's this morning to get a new printer. They were doing 3 in 1 printers for £24.99 which seemed a bit of a bargain and our old one has broken ... so .... this new one seems quite good :)) I love a bargain.

We watch Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday nights... me and Kit Kat love it. Mr A is not that keen tho' but he comes in the sitting room if there is a good song on!!
I want Mark the cricketer to win, because he's got sexy hips and a lovely smile!! :))

Anonymous said...

In fact there was another racist attack on Scotland last night on Strictly Come Dancing........ Carol Smilie got binned... it was blatantly Scottist ...... she wasn't that good either but that's beside the point ... I liked her better than that kid out of EastEnders who looks as if she hasn't got a neck and keeps crying and trading on public sympathy because she's only 17..... ah diddums.

Yep, the only reason that Carol Smillie was voted out was because all the English viewers are Scottist!! :D

ar muin capaill said...

Good Morning!!

Sorry didn't get a post in yest...between finishing the cooking, last minute stuff, and two tween football matches...the last guests left at 0100, I put away the leftover food, and collapsed to ma bed at 0130!! :)

In case you're wondering, AJ, I actually behaved myself last night...one guinness, and the rest of the night was sipping on "Scots/Irish coffee" ;))..(my version, don't know the real Irish Coffee recipe...good hot coffee, Baileys, whisky...no whiskEy in the house :D)...so I was Awake and Happy!! Can't have too tipsy of a hostess! :D

Anonymous said...

Glad you enjoyed your party - Melanie... its always a bit of a strain being host and hostess isn't it?

I like whisky and whiskey .... Jameson's is a nice drop o' Oirish heaven, begorrah sure and it is!!

That's my bit of stage Irish for you. :))

I like the sound of your Irish coffee as well... Do you like Baileys with ice in?

ar muin capaill said...

Hi Anna, yes, I only do the hostess thing on a grand scale once a year for our holiday party...we've been doing this same party for about 10 years, now...friends ask me in July, sometimes, if I've the date scheduled!!

The last few years I've added a theme...Celtic Country Christmas...It makes for a festive array of colors!! :D Wearing the colorful Plaid is rewarded by a raffle ticket for the chance to win various door prizes...so I've got guys in plaid workshirts, jeans, cowboy boots, and some coming all kilted oot!! Last year, my friend's world/celtic band played. We had to rent an outdoor tent...so that will only be every 2-3 years as that adds a bit of expense

I have a photo from last night...but it looks a bit odd with the makeup, since my eyes are made up for...confession...I have to wear glasses. Contacts are on the list to do!! (alas, tis another sign of aging!!) I will do my best to get it in cyber-space for you today!

AJ, I promised you a photo with my 4-legged critters, but it will be a few days, at least...as they are boarded out...poor Anna will no doubt have a melt-down by then if she has to wait!!! :D

ar muin capaill said...

Have you ever tried Delaney's Irish Cream?...it was brought to me as a hostess gift...yes, I love Irish cream over ice!! :)

btb, AJ will have a laugh...my teen referred to me in the photo as the 'bar-maid'...I'm holding a Guinness :D

AJ Fife said...

Melanie,

It sounds more like a festival than a party:)) I must say you guys know how to throw a party - themes, raffles and marquees!!:))

Yup, you sound a swell kinda gal!! Despite being a specky four eyes!!:D

Anna,

Don't watch the dancin' stuff. but I've often eaten in Carol's husbands' restuarant in St Andrews -he has two there, as well as more elsewhwere! I'll say this about Carol, she has improved with age!!;) Haven't we all:))

Peajay,

Working again?

Peajay said...

Good evening all

Sorry for late joining, had to work again (not great today only saw about 30 people and few had arms that reached to pockets).

Hope you have all had a good weekend (Melanie certainly seems to have). (@_@)

We have relative currently visiting, who has nicked ma bed!! Having to sleep on floor, joy!!

I saw the blatant Scottism on Strictly Come Dancing and think that the rugby boy Matt should have got the push (he already won Masterchef, what more can he want!)
I agree about the Eastenders goblin, she does seem to have an affliction relating to no neck and emotional deficiency. :))

Anna, I have to include two extra statements to your Oirish repertoire. After every statement you have to add 'so'. So it would become 'begorrah sure and it is, so!' and you then add 'tanks a million':D You'll sound like a native in no time at all (personal experience tells me this).

Anonymous said...

Hello all,

Melanie your party sounds like great fun... we'll all come over next year and gate crash it.... I'll bring some Jamesons!!! and some gin :D

Peajay,

So, who do you want to win in Strictly then? Mark or Emma? Agree with you about Matt .... I quite like him but he did win the cooking so he can't win everything on the telly .... even if he is quite cute apart from the sticky out ears!!

Kit Kat ... my son wants Matt to win ... he thinks he is the business!

Sure me darling its grateful oi'm being for yer teaching me the Oirish. Did you ever used to watch Father Ted .... sure and it was brilliant!

AJ .... I remember now that Carol's hubby is a restaurant owner... how does she stay so slim? Must say I thought she looked very glam when she did the Waltz last night!

But, it's got to be Mark for me ... his samba was brill and what a wiggle he has.

Sorry Melanie, you won't have seen any of these people. Do you have an American version of Strictly Come Dancing? Its a competition where a professional dancer partners a celebrity and they compete against other couples in a knockout competition over a few weeks.

Where's your picture Melanie?

Speak later :))

anna said...

Btw, Melanie ... I wear glasses for driving and occasionally for watching TV.

I also bought a pair of cheap reading glasses for early mornings and late night reading ... for when my eyes are getting bleary (too much gin!!) and tired!

Peajay said...

Hi Anna
I quite wanted Carol to win as she seems like a nice, genuine TV celeb, as a next choice, now that she's been cruelly ditched, it will have to be Mark. Do you think that the goblin is high on the win list just based on the lack of costumes she gets to wear, maybe she gets to show more buttock to take your eyes away from her lack of neck?

I too had to invest in glasses for close work this year (I was doing some calligraphy in Hebrew in a Synagogue Memorial Book and couldn't see the paint brush tip on the paper!!)I did however, manage to obtain purple glasses of course. 8)

ar muin capaill said...

Hi guys...the whole photo bucket thing is foreign to me..had to get the teen to help...okay, be kind!!

Peajay, I behaved!! but did have a great time!! :D

okay, no need for gate crashing...you're all invited next year..if you're out in the wild west!!! We're seeing about having the band back next year :D

Our version, is Dancing with the Stars...I watch on occasion, the dancing is fun to watch, but the soap opera drama is a bit much!! :/

Anonymous said...

Yes, I quite like Carol ... but I didn't think she was as good as some of the others ... until last night and she was very good then.

The goblin reminds me of one of those manic wind up toys that keeps spinning about for ages until it suddenly stops ..... and, in her case, starts to cry!

Crikey, Peajay, calligraphy is impressive in English ... never mind in Hebrew!!

Why were you writing in a synagogue memorial book?

Are you good at painting? (pictures not houses!! :))

Anonymous said...

You look very nice, Melanie, very friendly .... just like your posts :D

What was your costume? Were you a Highland Lassie from Brigadoon?

It is a bit tricky the photo posting thing isn't it?

Peajay said...

Before I did the Jewellery design my job was a Heraldic Artist and Calligrapher, so jobs like writing names and dates in Memorial Books keep coming in ('cos people keep pooping their clogs) and it wouldn't be right to say I don't do that anymore. The Hebrew is only copying what the Synagogue has written and praying all the squiggles are right (hence the glasses).
Melanie, you're looking fab.

Anonymous said...

So you're seriously arty, then Peajay .... I'm hopeless the only thing I can draw is a stick man and woman who live in a stick house with stick flowers and a stick dog and cat....

I haven't tried Delaney's Irish Cream, Melanie ... it sounds very irish ... does it have shamrocks on it?

I have tried a brandy version of Baileys, which was quite nice and I like Creme de Grand Marnier.

Peajay said...

Ooops. Just noticed the spelling glitch, it should read 'popping their clogs' although either could be appropriate :D

Anonymous said...

Has anyone had a go at Hunting the Haggis yet? How does that work ... does a little haggis scuttle across the page or something?

Peajay said...

Stick people worked for Lowry :))

This evenings comments are starting to sound a little bit like a get together of cyber-lush!! :DD

Peajay said...

The Haggis will occasionally pop up within one of the web cam views and stays for a couple of minutes. Usually you can see it in the mini windows and open that one in order to report your sighting. The haggis tend to be huge and could decimate a doubledecker bus if they turned nasty. Golden ones are worth more than brown ones.

ar muin capaill said...

Hi, sorry, been moving photos around...hopefully my photo is on the main page, not everytime I post...that was an oops

highland lassie/country maid with a tartan shawl sort of draped at the shoulder, yep! :D

haggis hunt by viewing webcam, when a haggis is superimposed then you click on the button, but you first must register with the scotsman, much like when you make a post

Anonymous said...

I know ... what you mean about cyber lush Peajay, my posts all seem to be about booze lately .... is it the dark nights do you think?

Mind you I haven't had a drink today..... apart from one glass of wine with lunch. After which I fell asleep on the couch for a while :D

ar muin capaill said...

It is a lazy Sunday, afterall, why not!!! I think that I may have to try the Delaney's later!! :D

I need to finish up reading my library books...they're due back, and special requests can't be renewed....I'm slugging thru with Trainspotting!!

Anonymous said...

Oh so you 2 are professional haggis hunters then? Have you ever won a prize?

ar muin capaill said...

Nope, no wins, but it's fun...I've enlisted my kids to help, plus it's fun just to view the webcams...the castle is beautiful all lit up, plus the xmas lights everywhere!!

Peajay said...

Anna
Obviously a lack of hands-on drinking practice, I'm sure Melanie has a top tip to partake of best quality vineyard produce without snoozing afterwards. :D

Anonymous said...

Melanie.... be honest are you enjoying Trainspotting? Or is it one of those books that is a bit of an endurance test?

I'll have to give it another go next year .... but it was making me feel a bit down to be honest. :D

Peajay said...

Haven't won anything although not for lack of trying last year. I blame Melanie myself, first she sends the Haggis Hunting then she sends the Scotsman Grail Hunting then came the Blogging. Do you realise I led a normal life before all this. :DD

ar muin capaill said...

Some of it is disturbing/depressing... the violent/ignorant/destructive life cyle they're in...yes

I was finally able to get past the language, didn't like the c word, either...I'm just being stubborn with this one, to get thru the story; it does help me empathise a little with those people/lifestyle choices...as I do see that with my job...plus, finishing the book is also a challenge, to understand the Scots

ar muin capaill said...

Apologies, Peajay, apologies!!!

:DDD

Anonymous said...

I know Peajay .... you sort of start to wonder what you did before you discovered the blogging malarkey don't you?

Some days I think right I'll give it a miss today ... too busy, but I get a spare minute and I think I'll just have a quick look, next thing you know .. 30 minutes has slipped away and you're running to catch up with what you're supposed to be doing.

Dear me, this is starting to sound like a Bloggers Anonymous helpline. :D

Peajay said...

Is there one 'cos I need help!!! :D

Anonymous said...

Perhaps we should set one up .... get a bit of advertising and we could become Blog.com millionaires!!

Anyway gals, I'm going to have to get going, ... I'll catch up with you again soon (probably in that 'spare minute' tomorrow!!)
Nite, Nite :D

Peajay said...

G'nite Anna.

Peajay said...

Melanie, I can agree a bit with the 'teen' but thought maybe more a Bierkeller Fräulein, you just need a Stein instead of the Guinness. :D Either way you look fab.

You look completely different from the other photo - it's a before and after scenario:-

Photo No 1 - Here I am standing with the vines, looking forward to a tasting!!

Photo No 2 - Here I am 6 months later and A've gone completely aff ma heid wi' the drink!! :D

Seriously, you look great Melanie - I can tell, you like a right good laugh!!:))

AJ Fife said...

Peajay, I'm very impressed with your repetoire of talents. My wife's grandfather was an amateur artist and he also dabbled with calligraphy. I find it incredibly interesting as well as beautiful.

He knew a famous Scottish exponent of calligraphy, I think his name is/was Tom Gourdie - I have a fantastic book, where lots of Scottish traditional recipes have been written in a calligraphic style!

Peajay, is calligraphic a word?:)

Anonymous said...

Hi all,

Its the spare minute again.... but not for long - I have to do some work today.... :(

I'd much rather be blogging :))

How are you AJ? Very quiet last night ...... were you banned by Mrs AJ and Mish Mash? I know what its like .... I get moaned at by both my fellas if I spend too long on here.

Seen any good sites on the Scotsman today? I thought the weather one might be a runner ... someone has already had a rant on there about Trident (?)

AJ Fife said...

Hi Anna,

Didn't have enough time to sit down and have a serious blog yesterday! My back gate/Fence was blown over again - time for a new plan I think!!:(( Plus I was working in the front garden levelling earth:((( At night I was knackered:((((

The weather has been unbelievable up here, especially on the coast! What's it like doon there?

Will check the Scotsman soon. Did you watch Panorama last night?

anna said...

The weather was rough on Saturday night but not as bad as it seems to have been in the south west and in Scotland. The forecast today is for more of the same but it seems quite calm at the moment!! The calm before the storm?

Sorry, about your fence that's a bit of a b***er isn't it? Ours fell down a couple of years back but our neighbour replaced it ... he's got a blockpaving business and comes in very handy sometimes, with his contacts and workmen etc!!

No I missed Panorama .... was it the one about passport fraud?

Did you see Simon Schama and the Power of Art on Sat night? It was about Picasso..... very interesting - it was mainly about the meaning and background to his masterpiece, Guernica.

That painting is amazing .... when you first see it you think What? Then, you keep looking at it and see more and more in it.. very clever indeed ... absolute genius in fact, but like most of these wildly talented people I think he was a bit mad.

Van Gogh was on the week before - and he was so talented as well but he was definitely bonkers.

You obviously need to be a bit crazy to start an art movement (or 2) and become a grand master!! :D

AJ Fife said...

The Panorama programme followed an Army patrol in Afghanistan and showed just how dangerous a place it is! It was interesting hearing the soldier's opinion of what they hoped to achieve.

I missed the Schamma programme unfortunately. He was quite mad, but obviously brilliant and really funny.

How does it feel having your photograph on the web? I find it strange, I have to say!!:)

Anonymous said...

It is a bit wierd having your photo on the web.... makes you feel a bit 'out there'... if you know what I mean.

I bet that Panorama was interesting. Mr A did a couple of months in Afghanistan with the resident RAF aircraft about 18 months ago...

Have you posted anywhere on the Scotsman?

Anonymous said...

Check out the weather blog ... AJ... Dave and a few other 'regulars' are discussing cheese on there!! :DD

AJ Fife said...

Hi Anna, I haven't yet, but I'll look at the cheese weather story!

I've spoken to quite a few people who have been out there, but most of the guys get posted out to Iraq or Oman from here.

Basra seems to be a nightmare in particular, but I think it's all a bit of a nightmare. No wonder Mr A has had enough!

Anonymous said...

Yes I think Basra is a nightmare ... my friend's husband was there at the beginning of this year for 4 months... she was worried to death the whole time he was away.

Mr A used to go away a lot when we were at Odiham because of the particular aircraft they have there and the people they support. Most of the time I had no idea where he was ... but the Kosovo thing was going on, then so I usually found out where he'd been when he got back but not always - secret squirrels!!

It was quite a tough time for both of us because Kit Kat was just a baby so Mr A missed out on a few things and there were times when I could have done with a bit more support when KK was tiny. Still, we got through it :)) That's one of the reasons tho' why he's leaving ... it will affect and upset Kit Kat a lot more now if his Dad goes away for any length of time.

AJ Fife said...

Up until recently, the family was often the reason servicemen and women left the service, especially when postings split couples up!!

About 10 years ago there was a WAF Cpl who had a baby and within a year she was posted to the Falklands for 6mths. Luckily her husband was able to take on all duties, but that was typical of how the RAF treated family units at the time. I'm sure you know plenty of similar examples Anna!

Basra does seem to be a disaster - imagine being under canvas and mortars are being lobbed into the compound!!!:((

Anonymous said...

Good Morning all!

Sorry I didn't get back to post much yest...same as you all with fam duties etc.... :)

went and bought the Xmas tree yest, we get live trees usually, then plant it on the property afterward...slowly transforming the desert scrub into a bit of an oasis!!...we'll hopefull get to decorate it later today!!

AJ Fife said...

Hi Melanie,

Have you recovered from the Beer Fest??

Anonymous said...

oh, I'm quite recovered save for a bit more cleaning up here and there...I was sipping only on Irish coffee a bit, after the one guinness, and being the dutiful hostess!! :D

Anonymous said...

How's your shoulder with all the manual labor you had to see to on Sunday??!!

AJ Fife said...

Glad it went well Melanie! I like your photo too!:))

Peajay seems to be a talented one Melanie, is she left handed?

AJ Fife said...

My shoulder is still sore, but I had to get on!:( I can't raise my right arm above my shoulder level and it's been like that for weeks!!

What do you reckon Nurse Melanie, a quick bullet in the ear to put me out of my misery!?!

Anonymous said...

you know, I can't remember but I want to say, yes she is!!

thanks, but I cheated a bit as I was made up, and cought in a very good mood!! (oooh, not that I have a scowl across my face other times!!! ;) )...I'll be more 'countrified' when I get a photo with my horses :))

Anonymous said...

I would say rest it then a combo of moist heat, ice, and anti-inflamm med,..then after a week start with light movement (range of motion) exercises...did you see a doctor for it??!!

... 'rest'... it's not always that easy when there are things needing to be seen to!!

AJ Fife said...

Special request - could we get a photo of you and Trigger jumping over the enclosure fence. Also you must be waving a cowboy hat in the air in the process!!:))

Of course a checked shirt is essential, but also the chaps are a must!!:))

Anonymous said...

What makes you think Peajay is left handed? Or have I missed something?

Hi, Melanie, glad to hear that you've recovered from your party... must have been hard work getting it all organised! :)

How's the cheese/weather blog going - AJ? Are they mad or what?

Anonymous said...

Sorry - I forgot to ask about your shoulder AJ. I'm not as kind and caring as Melanie... I'd have made a rubbish nurse!

AJ Fife said...

I didn't see a doctor, but I already had some anti-inflam for something else - my calf muscle!! I had some left over and took them.

My doc wouldn't have suggested have the stuff you said, she would just prescribe anti-inflam!

AJ Fife said...

Hi Anna, yes, nurse no, vet yes - just put 'em down!!:))

Left handed people are meant to be more artistic than right handed!:) I think it has been proven....perhaps!

The cheese blog is good, but I've left some bait for Bumsfelt!! Arthur might well be Bumsfelt...not sure though!

Anonymous said...

Sorry for the delay, my computer started a scan process, and won't let me post now...I need a new one, this one is too 'finicky'!!!!

...this 'old lady' doesn't jump over things with horses anymore unless it's a little branch or something 'Small' on the trail...I have one from an earlier time, jumping over a barrel turned on it's side...but I'm only twelve!! :D

I'll see if I can find the chaps...but as I wore them when I was 20, ...I might try to squeeze into them!!!! :/ :( :)

Anonymous said...

AJ, agree about Arthur...when you confronted Arthur/Bumsfeld about that last time....it was too convenient that a post both from Arthur and Bums appeared at the exact same time...as if arranged

Anonymous said...

AJ - Bumsfelt is blogging as Echelon on the Secret Service Scottish blog thingy.

I don't think he is Arthur - there posts are quite different and Arthur never seems to get as anti and childish as Echelon/Bumsfelt - even when someone has a go at him.

Melanie... perhaps you should get dressed up in 'upper class' English riding gear - you know high polished black boots, white jodphurs, black riding jacket and stock, also include a riding crop - I can hear AJ groaning from here!!

I didn't know that about left handed people ... Was Picasso left handed?

AJ Fife said...

Request No 2 - Melanie, just listen to Anna's advice/suggestion, it's a good one!!:)

Perhaps two photographs - first one could be you getting ready!!:)))

Anonymous said...

Anna, I have old photos of myself in that type of riding kit!!! :D When I lived on the east coast, riding was only done in the English style!!!! :D

I do prefer the more casual western style, though...but my saddle isn't western, with the horn, it's actually more like a Calvary type saddle used for cross-country style riding

Anonymous said...

Oh, I should have read closer instead of sipping on my coffee.....naughty, naughty!!! ;))) AND, my mind didn't go there first....yeah, I said it!!!

Anonymous said...

Melanie .... wakey, wakey.. ! ;D

When I went trekking in the Falklands we used Western style saddles ... I think the horse were from Argentina... so were used to that style. We also used western reins and bits.

Anyway it would be impossible to go trekking very far if you rode 'English' style imagine doing rising trot all the way!!

Calm down AJ ;)

Anonymous said...

Yes, Anna, there have been analogies made before, on the rising trot... hmmm, wonder why?!!!! ;) But we shouldn't torture the poor lad, should we!! :)))

AJ Fife said...

This website is turning into one of THOSE websites!!:D We could charge blokes to listen to the confessions of Lanna and Joanna in the stables!!:)))

Phew!!

Anonymous said...

ooh, Anna, I bet we could come up with some good ones...I've been wanting to retire, maybe this would be a great alternative income!!???

Uhh, maybe not... :))

I said hi to you AJ on the weather cheese blog...but I may have to sign off here early...Sgt Mjr has a mission to accomplish....

...not to add to the riding crop visual...but I will be holding and firing a 9mm Beretta and Colt handguns...as well as...a rifle or two today during a target practice outing...I may be wearing leather, too! :D

Peajay said...

Don't tease the poor lad, I'm not sure his blood pressure can stand it, especially as you're now starting to sound a bit cyber-dominatrix. :D Do you have a whip?

I'm sorry to disappoint but I'm definitely right-handed.

I'm going to have a look at the list!!

Crikey, Melanie guns as well .... poor AJ will have a seizure!!

Anonymous said...

Hey, guys have to get going!!!

the banter for the vote would have been fun!! :(

will catch up with ya'll later!!

Anonymous said...

Well, the weather blog 'list' must have gotten out of hand?? because the entire posting thread is gone!!

Hope you all had a nice evening, will chat with you later!! :)

AJ Fife said...

Good morning everyone,

Yes the weather blog was closed for some reason, don't know what for. When I left it, JG was talking about his house renovations!

I've been on the new eagle blog - and it has quickly gone downhill fast, but in a good way. No doubt this comment board will be closed too!!:((

Couldn't blog last night as my uncle went rapidly downhill, spent a good part of the night at his bedside. He is still hanging on however - which isn't a good thing:((

AJ Fife said...

The eagle was closed as expected, but there was no bad posts, just light hearted banter at the very worst!!:(

It would seem the moderater is becoming tired of his flock!!:)

AJ Fife said...

900 !!

100 to go until the 'BIG ONE' - who's it gonna be!;))

Peajay - evens

Anna 2:1

Melanie 65:1

AJ - 250:1

Anonymous said...

Hi AJ, Melanie & Peajay,

Sorry to hear about your uncle - AJ. :(

Haven't had the chance to look at the Scotsman yet ... it must be bad if they're closing boards already! Have you been moderated, yet AJ?

Anonymous said...

The eagle board is still open because I've just posted on it! :)

Anonymous said...

good morning all!!

Sorry about your uncle, AJ...it's good that you can be there for him!

hope otherwise, you all are having a good morning!!

Anonymous said...

Well, a quiet morning here in cyberland...I hope it is the busyness of the day, and nothing else, esp for you AJ. My thoughts are with your uncle...

will speak to you all later :)

AJ Fife said...

Thanks for your concerns guys:)

My uncle passed away yesterday evening, fairly peacefully. I left work early, got there at 3pm and he drew his last breath at 5pm. All the close family were there - which is only 5 people :(

Glad it's over, especially for my Aunt. Although she is a very strong woman, she's 84,and the strain was beginning to tell.
Anyway another funeral looms:(

Anna, They shut the eagle blog for a while, then reopened it. Something seemed to be up when Prof. Firozelli posted his comment!!!
The blog was fun though and continues in that vein it would seem. It's good when all the kids get on!!:))

AJ Fife said...

It's a quiet day again - nae Peajay and nae Anna! I wonder when Melanie's gettin' oot her scratcher?!?

I've engaged with Doreen on the Audrey Hepburn dress story!!:))

Anonymous said...

oot of me scratcher, AJ, and awa for a moment for my coffee...good morn to you

sorry about your uncle, but I'm glad that you and your family, no matter what the number, was there for him!

AJ Fife said...

Good morning Melanie,

It seems like ages since we had a blether!! Are you working today? What are the kids getting for Xmas? What's the weather like? How did the shooting go? Does leather look good on you?

Anonymous said...

Hi AJ ..... very sorry about your uncle - always sad when someone who you care about and was part of your life and memories dies.

I've been busy this morning - went to college - second part of an exam next week! Then I went and did some food shopping - yawn. I seemed to spend a lot but its mainly because of the all the extra Xmas goodies!!

It seems to cost more and more every year. What are you getting your young 'uns for Christmas? Kit Kat is getting a Nintendo DS Lite games console thingy and some games. So that's quite a hefty sum .... just for the games!!

I haven't got anything for Mr A yet - he's very difficult to buy for.

Anonymous said...

Well, where's Peajay? and the party's all here!!! :D

ar muin capaill said...

AJ, slow down, be fair....I haven't had my coffee!!! I am a morning person, but.... ;)))

Hi Anna!

Anonymous said...

Hi Melanie

I've replied to you AJ on the Hepburn blog... you and Doreen seem to be getting on very well, AJ ... you've certainly softened her up a bit! :D

Any other good blogs.... the Conservative thing looks too boring for words ;(

AJ Fife said...

Work is such a pain at times, I'll be back!!

ar muin capaill said...

AJ, don't have to work, will be around, save for the dreaded errands later!!

Anna, haven't had time to read yet...am hitting the mundane early...bills, to see what pennies I have for xmas shopping!!! :))
We've had some home/auto repairs, etc come up, inconveniently...so I have to do the ever task of juggling!!! :)) As you said, seems to be getting more and more expensive!!!

ar muin capaill said...

Anna, I have the same problem with the Sgt Mjr...not sure what I'm doing this year...he's been wanting a welder, but I cough and choke at the price!! :)) I told him that that would count for about three xmas' mister!!! :)) Am I terrible??, but what would happen if we said yes to all their fancies!!!! 'boys and their toys' !!!

ar muin capaill said...

okay, Anna, AJ's left and you've disappeared, as well...sniff! :(

I think I'll just go and read the depression blog....

;))

AJ Fife said...

Hi Melanie, I'm back - a few technical hitches glitches on my system. Seems to be ok now!:|

The paper is a wee bit boring, however I think Bumsfelt is operating under the name of rosford today - he bears all the notorious hallmarks!

AJ Fife said...

He is on the depression blog!!

Am I becoming paranoid??:))

ar muin capaill said...

Hi AJ, deep breath, slowly exhale... ;)) He's not shadowing you!!! :))

Anonymous said...

AJ, had a nice long response then the internet went down and kicked off both computers, it's still not up on mine

Anonymous said...

I was saying something about xmas shopping, shooting weaponry and leather...but it may have to wait ;))

Anonymous said...

Hi folks,

Back again - just picking up Kit Kat from school etc, etc.

Mr A got some sort of saw thing a couple of years ago ... sounded pretty boring to me but he wanted it. So, far it hasn't moved out of its box despite me dropping loaded hints about needing more bookshelves in KK's room and elsewhere. It cost over £100 as well ... can't remember what its called now.

I don't like getting him clothes either, because he's a bit fussy about colours/styles. I bought him a dark red jumper last year which I thought would look great - and it does ... but he doesn't like the colour..... he has dark hair and it goes really well but ... Men!!

So it might be a CD this year.... if I can find one that he hasn't got! I bought him Kate Bush's new one last year (he's always been a big fan of hers) but she hasn't released anything this year...

Anonymous said...

AJ,
I never realised Cary Grant was bi.. blimey you live and learn don't you?

I've always thought that Richard Gere was a bit suspect .... ever since he took his shoes off in Pretty Woman and minced about on the grass in his bare feet. Queer as a cartload of monkeys!!

Melanie and Peajay ..... this is a follow on from the Hepburn blog!! :D In case you're confused.

Anonymous said...

hi Anna, sorry was seeing to the morn fire and to a bit of breakfast...so your man is finicky...sorry,.. but then, bless his heart, mine is too with a lot things!! :))

AJ, are you an 'easy keeper'??!! ;)))

AJ Fife said...

Anna,

Didn't Richard Gere end up in hospital to get a gerbil extricated from his anus? It might even have been Melanie that performed the op!!:)))

Melanie, I'm easy pleased and cheap!!:)

Anonymous said...

your hired, AJ!! ;)))

AJ Fife said...

Cary Grant, apparantly always had his male companion staying with him, even during his marriages!!

Anonymous said...

Cary Grant, and there was another heart throb 40's/50's guy, well, actually there were a few that batted both ways!!

and we are talking about this because................?

Anonymous said...

I wonder if he kept them separate?? ooh, i do not want to continue this line of talk!!

AJ, how's the weather?? ;))

Anonymous said...

I've been busy Haggis Hunting this morn...hoping to win a calendar!!

Will you be around later, AJ, you're right, we're do for some blethering!!

btb...Hands across the water is a great cd!! thanks!! They did a great job with Ae Fond Kiss, Standing Still is also a nice song...the cd is out in my car, I need to bring it in to load on my computer....I'm going to wait till it gets above freezing first before I go out!!! :))

AJ Fife said...

we're talking about this Melanie.....because Anna started it!!;)

No, it was the Hepburn blog on UK that started it off. I was exchanging views with Doreen and we started to expose the Hollywood homosexual incrowd!!:))

Anonymous said...

AJ, didn't mean to be insensitive about your current family situation, when asking if you'd be around later!

Anna, are you seeing to KitKat??

Anonymous said...

AJ - Would you like a nice dark red jumper from Gap......never worn! I'll pop it in the post for you... Mr A is 6ft 3 and a bit and fairly slim -not as thin as he was in his youth when he was a cross country runner - but still fairly slim!

I bought him a T shirt last year in Minorca but he said it looked and I quote "a bit gay"!! I thought it was nice .... it was turquoise .... fussy devil that he is!! :D

Do you think turquoise is a bit gay AJ?

Maybe it was the hot sun that made me pick it for him!! :)

AJ Fife said...

Not at all Melanie, the funeral has been arranged for Monday and my Aunt is busy contacting people and arranging a venue for tea and scones afterwards! Everything will settle down now, especially after Monday.

I'll hope to be on later Melanie, but there's football to watch tonight, so it might be later!:)) Have a great morning!:))

ps do you keep hamsters and gerbils?

Anonymous said...

LOL, and to think of the things we ponder on!!!

Anna, the red jumper (sweater?) sounds great!! I esp like the darker, less orange, type of reds...AJ, you'd look good in it!!

AJ, :( you'd chose football over chatting with your internet chick!?! ;)))

AJ Fife said...

You would have been as well giving him a sandwich board that said "Please use rear entrance,,,I'm gay"!!! Of course turquoise is gay Anna!!:)) If he wore that on holiday, he'd be pestered non stop with wee hispanic homos!!:D

Anonymous said...

no rodents, or pet reptiles for me...I refuse...kids get dogs, birds and outside critters, only!!!

aren't we in rare form!!

AJ Fife said...

The gap jersey sounds good Anna. I'm an extra large though!

Melanie, I'm afraid the fitba is kinda important:))

Anonymous said...

Anna, turquoise was no don't inspired by the hot sun....it can make a person batty...not that I live in a place with the hot sun...I'm just fine??!! :/

:))

ah, yes, AJ, a man's business is a man's business...whether it be politics or sports!!!!

how tall are you??

Anonymous said...

Thanks for the advice AJ .... you crack me up, sometimes .... a sandwich board ... brilliant!! I'll have to share that one with Mr A.

He was quite lucky, really, I nearly got him a pink one... ! Must have been the sun :)) Melanie.

Anonymous said...

well, AJ, time for you to go....see you later, enjoy your football! (I was just teasin, about not talking with me later!!)

Anna, time for me to get the kiddies up and going, but I will be around to exchange xmas ideas, etc!! :))

have a great evening!!!

AJ Fife said...

I'm only 6ft Melanie:(

It's Mish Mash time - see ya!:)

Anonymous said...

AJ, what do you mean, only 6 ft???
the Sgt Mjr is 6ft, I think it's a perfect height!! :))

see ya!!

Anonymous said...

I've never had a long term relationship with a man who was under 6 foot.:))

I think I may be height ist!! :))

I'm only 5ft 5, though..... I'd have loved to have been at least 5ft 8 .... Ah well, maybe in my next incarnation!! :))

Anonymous said...

Anna, you need a step stool to kiss Mr. A!!!! hmm, you do sound like a height-snob, but I understand the issue...I think my shortest boyfriend was 5'9"...so heels were out! ;))

Anna, I'm 5'7", so 6 ft is nice, I can still wear heels, tho the knees don't let me wear too high of ones anymore!!! With flat shoes, it's just enough height to snuggle up to the neck when giving a hug!! :D

Anonymous said...

I don't wear heels anymore, Melanie. I can only cope with an inch or so nowadays. I broke my ankle, badly, about 4 years ago, snapped it in front and both sides, so had to have a few ops to correct things.

However, I walk OK, now, except when I over do things (like trailing round Norwich, shopping!!) and the next day I limp and drag my foot a bit. Mr A often whistles Dixie when I do that :DD He thinks he's so funny ... :D Does make me laugh tho' when I'm doing my wounded soldier bit! :))

So, to cut a long story short - killer heels are a thing of the past for me.

I've been out with guys who have been under 6 foot but I've had 3 - what you could call long term relationships in my life, obviously this is the longest (and the best), and whether its coincidence or not they've all been over 6 foot.

Anonymous said...

Anna, I was teasin you a bit, about the 'tall guy syndrome'!! :))

...heels are 2" at the most for me...again, isn't getting older terrible!!! My one knee has had surgery, and the ligament is a bit loose again, so I need to be careful...then it's sort of overall wear and tear stuff from earler years...when I was 'invincible' :))

sorry about your ankle!!! it sounds like it was a painful ordeal!!

Anonymous said...

Yes, when I think back to the stuff I used to wear. I had platform boots and shoes which were really high in the '70s. Then moved onto to stillettos in the 80s and 90s and some of them were very high. How did I ever walk in them?

The things you do for fashion.... :)

The Scotsman seems a bit quiet today, some wierdo has posted a great tract of something very odd on the Audrey Hepburn blog. Very strange, there are some real crazies out there!!

Anonymous said...

Actually, the same guy seems to have posted the same thing on all the boards.

You'd have to be mad to follow one of his links.

Peajay said...

Good evening all,

Sorry to be late joining have been delivering Auntie back to Heathrow and then reclaiming ownership of my bedroom. Floor tends to pale after a while.

Have enjoyed reading todays tete-a-tete. I wasn't completely aware that colours (apart from the obvious pink and purple) were so clearly indicative of gaiety. :) I have to say that turquoise wouldn't have been that obvious, you never saw Cary wearing it. What was the reason for disliking the dark red?

Melanie, next time he's a bit picky perhaps you should occasionally remind the Sgt Maj that he travelled much of Europe wearing a little green German trilby type thing complete with a feather (He could have been mistaken for Robin Hood!!) :DDD

If anyone's interested I'm 5' 1" (when you're that short 1" makes a lot of difference). My parents promised I would be 5' 8" but circumstances resulted in my being robbed. :( I don't need heels, I need stilts!!

Peajay said...

AJ
I'm so sorry to hear your sad news but as Melanie said it's a comfort to have all been there together.
I came across this piece sometime ago and felt moved by the sentiment.

'Were a star quenched on high,
For ages would its light,
Still travelling downward from the sky,
Shine on our mortal sight.

When a good man dies,
For years beyond his ken,
The light he leaves behind him shines
Along the path of men.'

Alexander Russell Main

Anonymous said...

Peajay, of course we're interested...I remember you as about 5'3 :)) The Sgt Mjr still has that hat somewhere...I had to laugh everytime people would assume he was German/Swiss fresh from the Alps, and start speaking to him in German, or ask in broken German, if he spoke English...he looked the part, as that is mostly his descent, plus some Scottish!!

Hope you all had a nice evening!!

...how was your football, AJ??!! I'm thankful you had fitba to keep you occupied...it allowed me to get quite a bit done around here!! ;)))

I have to work Thurs :( but will say hello in my am!

Anonymous said...

Anna, you're right about that 'truth' guy...Some of these posters do get strange and/or they're just getting their kicks...I wouldn't want to follow the links...Peajay put him in his place though... :)

AJ Fife said...

Thanks Peajay, that was very nice of you:)

AJ Fife said...

Melanie, Sorry we couldn't indulge in the usual social intercourse last night. After the fitba, Mrs AJ had some chores for me!:)

Anonymous said...

good morning, AJ, now given the recent discussion of thermometers, I hope the chores weren't too stressfull!! :D

Thank you for clarifying for absence...I did miss our banter, but as you were busy, and the Sgt Mjr still at work, I did manage to get some things seen to that I've been putting off!! :)

AJ Fife said...

Melanie!!!!

Good morning to you too, was the dust building up, sink overflowing and the kids malnourished!?!?:D

Hope you have a good day at work, watch out for poofy Hollywood celebs!:))

ps I missed our discussion too!:)

Anonymous said...

AJ, I hope I didn't take too much liberty there with reference to 'your chores'!! :)

AJ, it was the garage, a disaster of build up of things 'I'll use for later'...well later came, and they went into the trash!!!

AJ, I'm looking forward to talking/catching up with you tomorrow, hopefully your work, and my schedule will allow!!

Have a great day All, will catch up with you manana (I have to work Sat/Sun :(()

AJ Fife said...

It's never a chore Melanie;)

I've added an interesting photograph of old Leven to my blog, it's around about 1900!

Anonymous said...

Nice pictures - AJ - look at you getting all technical and tarting up your blog. Very nice too!! :))

Well, Mr A is going to a funeral tomorrow - the friend of his who died - I think there are quite a lot of people going that he worked with. Very sad ... he was only 52
:(

Hope you're all well... I've been busy all day and a lot of the evening with various things, so haven't had much chance to post anything..

Catch you later... :D

Anonymous said...

AJ, Liked the pictures of Leven; I finally get to see the bridge! ...Didn't think you'd be complainin 'bout that chore!! ;)

Good morn all! I'm up late with the teen and math homework, ugh!! Something you guys get to look forward to!! :/

Will see you with my coffee!!

AJ Fife said...

Morning everyone,

Couldn't get posting at all last night, as Mrs AJ had me helping her make Xmas cards!!!!:| However no problems this evening as Mrs AJ is having an overnighter in Edinburgh - shopping and wine bars!!

Glad you like the old postcard photos. The harbour doesn't exist anymore - filled in around 1910 - it's now a carpark, unsightly bus terminal and swimming pool complex. The planners butchered what could have been an attractive facade for the commercial part of the town.

The promenade is where I stay, and it hasn't changed very much in the last 100 years or so.

Hopefuuly we'll all have a natter later on:))

AJ Fife said...

Anna,

52 is very young, it will be a difficult day:(

Anonymous said...

Hi AJ, Melanie & Peajay,

Yes, Mr A was looking a bit down when he went out this morning :(

But, hopefully he will cheer up a bit later on this evening as we are going to the annual Christmas fayre in town. Its really nice because all the schools, businesses, medical centre, youth organisations, WI etc etc decorate a Christmas tree each and they are all displayed in the main church. It is great to see all the different themes they dream up each year and try to spot people you know's efforts on the trees.

For instance Kit Kat has made decorations for his school tree and the Beaver's tree, my mother is a member of the Women's Institute so she has done something for their tree. There are usually about 50 or so trees on display - which is good for a little town like this.

Then there is a traditional Xmas fayre with carol singers, chestnuts, mulled wine, stalls etc, etc in the market square and they switch on the Xmas lights. Its good fun and loads of people turn out for it.

So, I think that will cheer Mr A up a bit .... get some mulled wine and a mince pie into him!! :))

I'm off out in a bit so I'll hopefully catch up with you all later on :)

Anonymous said...

Good Morning All!

Anna, hope Mr. A will be feeling better; as you said, your town fayre sounds like it has the warm and cozy feel of a 'small town in yesteryear' if that makes sense...will catch up with you later!

AJ, were you crafting hand-made cards, or just addressing envelopes??? Funny what we women drag and coerce you men into doing for us!! :))

AJ Fife said...

Hi Melanie,

I was draft into a spot of folding and sticking bits!!:)

Fascists the lot of ya!!:))

Anonymous said...

AJ, I knew it you it!! You poor man!!! Hopefully, you shook it off... drank a beer, watched more football or went and chopped wood or some other manly activity! :D

Anonymous said...

ooh, that should have said, 'i knew it'!

how are you this morn??

AJ Fife said...

A shot me a racoon....yeeeha!:))

How are you this morning Mel?
Any plans for the weekend?
Any outings with your brood?

AJ Fife said...

I'm fine today, Mrs AJ left me and Mish Mash to fend for ourselves!!

Chocolate time!!!!

Anonymous said...

Well, I have to work Sat and Sun, but tonight we have Sgt Mjr's work xmas party...He's wearing a Prince Charlie kit along with some of his friends, one of whom is from Stirling, I believe. It should make quite an impression on the local natives, as it is not the norm here! But I do love a mon in a kilt!!

Anonymous said...

Are you a chocolate fiend, AJ...goes best with a Cabernet!!

I love dark chocolate with marzipan...still need to work on that baked alaska/tiramasu/mocha creation...may have to wait till after the holidays! :D

Anonymous said...

Is it a group of gal-pals, shopping and drinking....and you let Mrs AJ go??!! You are a brave man!!! :D

Anonymous said...

It probably sounds funny, an American wearing a kilt, but I'm the one who encouraged it(the things you men do for us!)...I think it's a neat expression of one's Scottish heritage, for us; and as said before, you guys look great in them!! :))

I'm wondering if we're out too late Fri...I might feel a chill and a cough coming on, so will be 'too ill' for work Sat ;)))
..do you 'play possum', and call in sick when you're not...oops, better not answer that...this is in print!!! :)

AJ Fife said...

Melanie, make sure your nails are smoothly filed - when wumin have a howk up the kilt, it can leave nasty scratches!!:D

Mrs AJ is away with her best pal, shopping all day and then out for an Italian. They'll probably end up in a Xmas party in some Edinburgh boozer!!:)

AJ Fife said...

Melanie, we call it "taking a sickie", and yes it has been known!!:) Not for a couple of years, but it has been known;))

Are you dressing up too Melanie - not the Bavarian barmaid outfit!?!

Anonymous said...

No barmaid wench outfit.... black, long dress with a tartan shawl on my shoulder to match the Sgt's kilt. I may opt for the Guinness in hand, though!! :D

but, seeing as this is his night, I will most likely be the designated driver!!

Anonymous said...

AJ, I should have scrolled up before replying....my nails will be well filed, don't worry...and I plan to take full advantage of that kilt!! :DD

AJ Fife said...

Melanie, I know a guy who got stopped by police in San jose for drunk driving about 10 years ago. He pleaded ignorance of the law because he came from Scotland and told them it wasn't against the law to drink and drive here. He was let off and the police escorted him back to his hotel.

He was a lucky boy! The word gullible springs to mind though!:)

AJ Fife said...

Yer a saucy wee minx Melanie!!:D

Will the Sgt Mjr be able tae fight ye aff?:D

Anonymous said...

... he was lucky, but I somehow think they saw thru the story and just gave the tourist a break....maybe it was the charm of the accent??!! ;))

Anonymous said...

The Sgt Mjr doesn't stand a chance...he'll fall victim to 'my wiles' for sure!!!

AJ Fife said...

I've decided it's unfair that women don't have a national costume to wear! I think in accordance with the Auld Alliance, it should be a French maids outfit - stockings compulsory!!:))))

AJ Fife said...

Sorry Melanie, it's too early for that sort of talk!:)

Hope you're not offended.....but do you possess such an outfit?!:D

Anonymous said...

...The 'country maid' and the 'pirate wench' outfits are my favorites...no french maid outfits...should I add, yet ;))

but as you suggest... let's 'rein it in', and behave!!! Although I do like french creole cookin, I may need to buy a costume to match!! :D

It is absolutely unfair that you guys look so smashing in your kilts, and we're left with boring dresses, accompanied with only a glimspe of a tartan sash or shawl!!!

AJ Fife said...

Country maid, pirate's wench!!!

Stop right there woman, that's quite enough!!:DD

Anonymous said...

Just popped in for a quick look before going out (again!) - good grief.... you're fantasising and dressing up again!! ;)

Are you sure you would want all the women in Scotland to dress up in French maid's outfits, AJ? Surely not!! Possibly just the young, good looking ones with nice figures would be best! :)

Do you have a batman outfit AJ?

Anonymous said...

Anna, you caught us!! :))

So, Anna, you replied with 'Batman' pretty quick...do you like men wearing capes and masks??!!....I think you should buy Mr A a Zorro costume for Christmas!!! :)))

AJ Fife said...

As always, Anna bursts in and shatters the dreamworld Melanie has created for me!!:)

You have a point though Anna, Heighland dancing might be less attractive if 76 year old grannies are wheeching around the dance floor, displaying stocking tops and liver spots!!:))

Thanks for your sobbering thoughts Anna:D

How was the village shindig?

AJ Fife said...

Batman no, but how about caveman, I do a good caveman!!!:)

Anonymous said...

Would you be wearing leopard or bear skin, AJ??!! I'm partial to a hint of caveman in a man ;))

The Sgt Mjr has both refined qualities, and hints of caveman... unusual maybe for a man, but an attractive combination for me!!

AJ, I seem to get along well with you, you must be similiar in traits!! :)
So, I create an 'ambiance' for you, do I??!! ;)))

Anonymous said...

We're going to the shindig in about half an hour.

I've just got back from work!! I do some occasionally - I'm not always a lady of leisure (unfortunately!!)... :D

I think the local Morris and Molly dance sides are performing tonight and there is going to be a Sword dance as well. By gum, we know how to enjoy ourselves in the Fens!! :D

The Mask of Zorro ....... of course - my favourite Latin piece of stuff - Antonio Banderas played him .... so of course I like the look!! :))

'Speak' to you later .... behave yourselves while I'm away!! I'll drink a mulled wine to you :))

Enjoy your party, Melanie

AJ Fife said...

Yes indeed Melanie!:) Do you think Anna is listening??

That's it I need to be taken away - the funny farm, nut house....!!:D

AJ Fife said...

Time to get Mish Mash folks, have a good party Anna:))

And Melanie..........I'll speak to you.............later;)

Anonymous said...

They're on their way - AJ ... oone way ticket to the loony bin :))

Anonymous said...

bye bye, Anna, have a great time...will be lifting a glass to you as well!!! :)) Knew you'd go for the Zorro look!! :DD

Anonymous said...

Promise?!!, AJ!!! ;))

AJ Fife said...

Hi Melanie,

It's almost post number 1000!

That's incredible, I speak to you guys more than my wife! The positive in that fact, is that I don't get a slap when I'm cheeky!!:))

Peajay normally appears just in time for these mile stone moments!!

Who's gonna get it?!?:))

Anonymous said...

Well, here's one more toward the mil....hard to believe!!!

Speaking of cheeky, do you know the Sgt Mjr had the gall to ask me if I would Mind if he gave Sandra Bullock a hug today??!!!! It would seem Sandra's hubby works with youth-at-risk and the SgtM is meeting with him today in a net-working type meeting, and Sandra might be there!!

AJ Fife said...

Sandra Bullock?

Don't worry Melanie she aint a patch on you!!:) You should get him to ask for an autograph though! How embarrassing would that be!!:))

The 1000 comes to AJ!!:))
