Oops, sorry Anna!
She misses it ....... Peajay you sneaked in there didn't you?
Who has Melanie upset?
figured someone might fly in there while I was gone!! AJ, I'm surprised it wasn't you, or have you had your fill for the day!! :)
Actually the bridge blog was full of men and their fisticuffs...I wandered in because someone said a 'dis' (disrespectful comment) towards Americans, but I really didn't want to wade in that deep...more fun to chat here!! :)
Myself and my pickup truck have been conscripted in the man'ana (morning) by the Sgt Mjr to help the neighbor move things off of their property as their house just sold. Roll call is my 0700 sharp :((
I'm hoping to be on for a quick hello, but in case I miss the mark you'll understand the silence on my end
...AJ, if I miss ya before your 1700, will you be back on, your Wed eve? "Doreen is purely a flirtation - not like us!!!:))" ....it was mighty fine ya said that, thar, ya charmin Fifer! I'm only gettin ta that now, 'cause ya had me blushin and I was at a loss for words!!! ;))
Hope your evening went well, you were mighty quiet, but understand fam time! :))
Cyber-gal pals, will you be on later as well??!! Peajay, is J's sister coming over??
Hi all,
Hope the Sgt Mjr goes easy on you Mel - once the 40 mark is reached, recovery rates are painfully slow!;)
Another day, another story about the bridge, however, so far it has been very good natured and fun!
I wonder if Mr Rumsfeld will make an appearance?!?
Anna,
Doreen may well be as she describes herself, but who knows!?!
I like to think she really looks like Halley Berry:))
Anna,Peajay
It's 11:20, and the Scotsman seems to be down, or is it me (paranoia kicking in!).
The postings today have been mainly off topic and real chatty!!
Hopefully it's just a glich!!:))
AJ - I've been out most of the morning at college. Got my exam result - I passed but didn't get as good a mark as I hoped for or to be honest expected to get!! I think I might have been a bit over confident about it and that was my downfall!! Still I got an above average mark...... must try harder eh?
Saw you on the Celtic blog - did you watch the match last night? Mr A did and I saw a bit of it ... he was supporting Celtic, believe it or not, he can't stand Man U - so there you go - he wants to see them knocked out!! They play Chelsea at the weekend and it will be a sad birthday (on Sat) for him if Man U beat the blues :))
Have you managed to get on the Scotsman?
Hi Good morning!
Strange, I woke up before the alarm...I doubt it's the excitement of manual labor, though!! :)
Hi Anna, it was a 20 min glich. I've been relatively busy today, but manged a few posts - Ming, bridge, McConnell. Donald is back but I'll ignore him as he is getting another hammering from plenty of others!:)
Hi Melanie, don't damage your back, you've got the naked dancing to think about!!:D
Anna, sorry - well done on the exam, but you can blame the Scotsman for stopping the required revising!!:)
I suspect you do set a very high standard!?!
True, and as i've had some belly-dancing training in the past, it could be quite fun, Fifer!!! Although, I think as it's a bit chilly out now, hot chocolate and parkas will be the hit of the eve!!
Anna, are you taking another class next semester? And, well done!!!
(I think we always say, we couldv'e done better...you've earned your rest!!!)
Anna, you and Peajay had some fun last nite!!! Did you see my request for photo suggestions as we zoom to the 1000 here?...I could find a winter wonderland photo for the season...or how 'bout I'll look for a photo with a hammock strung between two palm trees, in Tahiti with the sea in the backround!! :))
AJ, did your wee one leave some belongings intact??!! I kinda liked the idea of you chasing your terror-tot/destructo lass 'round the house...I imaginged it like one of those Pixar films!!! :))
Missed ya last nite, were you taking a respite??
I'm still carrying on next year, Melanie - I finish around June time - so expect some more angst next year from me!! :))
You're probably right about blogging on here when you should be working - I confess to being guilty as charged, m'lud!! :)
I should have done some work on Monday morning - but I fiddled about talking twaddle on the Scotsman instead ... but its such fun.
Melanie, are you taking up belly dancing? Or are you already into that?
Anna, I should have read two books by now, with the amount of typing/reading time I've put in....on the Scotsman...I don't count here, as I don't consider our place here a waste of time :))
I was never a professional dancer, my mum was though, I just enjoy it...belly dancing classes were bk (before kids) although I do use it as a form of exercise...and to get the Sgt Mjr blushing!!! :)) We women can be "ornery" when we want to, can't we!!!!! ;)
err......don't know about belly dancing!:) The Shrek wobbling might cause people to take to the hills!!:))
Confession No1 - I was watching a big game last night, same one Anna mentioned - Scotland 1 England 0
Ma bairn emptied out all the underwear drawers and distributed her nappy supply everwhere. That's what happens when leave her alone for 20 seconds - but you guys know that!:D
Melanie,
"an ornery critter"!!
Ah, yes, well that explains the absence of chat with your internet-chick...football!!! And, you tried to blame it on the wee sweet lass!!! ;)))
Shrek, don't worry, men don't usually do the dancing, they do the watching of it :))
Yes, 'ornery critter' would fit, well said!!! ...did you like my nicknames for your wee one??!! :))
Ah well, 9 minutes before I must serve at hard labor!!! Ah hope ah can manage to post afterwards...might have to go soak in the hottub!!! :))
Yes she fits the bill for those names, but she specialises in harrying the twa dugs - never gives them a minutes peace, but they are good and take it well, luckily!!:)
Don't drop the laptop in the hot tub - could be nasty!!:D
See ya Mel!:)
Wrong AJ
Celtic 1 Man U 0
Nothing to do with England - I couldn't care less if Man U got the butt kicked by Celtic, Rangers, Hibs, Hearts and East Fife every single week. Neither does anyone else in England except Man U supporters.
Man U is like Marmite you either love it or you hate it. :))
I love Marmite but dislike Man U. :D
AJ,I saw you answered me on the bridge blog!!! :)) Did you think my answer was far off??? I thought it was funny! Did you read it Anna, I really thought he/it overreacted!!!
When our oldest was 18mos or so, she used to put our little Rottie puppy in her Pram and stroll him around the house!!!
Well, off to take the Sgt Mjr his coffee....ah what a sweet wife ah can be....course ah have to make up for ma 'ornery' side...what did you say there, AJ, hot/cold, or something!!! ;))
Talk with you guys later!! Have both a productive and chatty day, but good all the same!! :))
Anna,
It's correct, if you listened to the pundits and media - they gave the billing.
There weren't many home based players actually on the field, so it was one international 11 against another in reality!
Bye Melanie,
And another thing AJ - you can keep the big headed Man U players, especially Rooney and his girlfriend in Scotland forever and ever please.........:))
Oh and take Ferguson awa' back hame as well..:))
Mind you - you're right there's hardly any UK players in our football now, especially in the English premiership....... and they all get paid too much especially that doughnut Rooney and prima donna Beckham (I know he plays for Real Madrid, now, but you get my drift).
I think they should all have a wage cut and start earning their lolly for a change, especially when they're out for the national teams. Fat, lazy and complacent the lot of them ..... and those stupid WAGs get on my nerves too.
Ah, that feels better - got all that off my chest - don't mind being my whipping boy do you AJ?
Do you like Marmite, AJ or do you hate it?
Oops Anna, I forgot the :D
Jeez yer posting too quickly, plus my boss just walked in!!!:D
Whipping boy eh! So is it true about the married patches at all the bases you were stationed at Anna?!?:D
Mind you, I dislike Arsenal even more than Man U. It's an inherited thing - you couldn't grow up with my Dad and say anything nice about Arsenal!!
If, Celtic had been playing them - I would have been dancing round the sitting room if Celtic had won.
Anyway, got to go and do some craft things for the Xmas fayre with children at school. The things I get myself roped into!
Might catch you later? :))
Anna, I agree totally about fitba players and their hingers on. It is disgusting when you stop to ponder their lot in life. What's worse - they aint that good!:(
Never tried marmite, and it doesn't appeal!:(
Hi AJ/Anna, I've returned unscathed...the tween (our son) was helping, so my 'manuel labor' was less!! I was more the driver :)
Sorry, if I've missed you!! Will talk later!
AJ, do you live off of Church Rd or down by School St??!! ;)) (just kiddin, too public here, anyway!!)
I see the bridge(it's an orange line), over the river, across from Methil...I just love google earth!!! (you can zoom in to our house very accurately...and very scary, sort of!!)
I tried to pick up a photo of the bridge on google.com, but no images, nice photos of Leven and area, though
saw you on the politics blog!! I'll check back for the 500;...remember the whisky for the hot cocoa!
Hi Melanie
Yes you can see my house on Google Earth as well!! :))
AJ - Never tried Marmite - you don't know what you're missing.... every morning on my toast - yummy:)
We all love it in this house - when my son was still in his high chair - he used to wave his arms about and beam like mad when the Marmite soldiers appeared!! :))
I don't like Vegemite tho' ... an Australian friend told me it was better than Marmite ..... she was wrong :D
My fingers are worn down to the bone with these craft(y) things and my hair is full of glitter ..... and I managed to get paint all over my top. Hopefully it will wash off... :(
Hi All
Sorry to be joining late again, it's been one of those days. Had to take Murphy to the vets this morning as he has conjunctivitus and is now squinting at me. :) This is another mission as he is the most ebullient of dogs and is inclined to trample anyone in his path, so left the vets absolutely 'cream crackered'.
Melanie
Yes the it's J's sister coming for a flying visit.
AJ
Apologies for missing your Scotsman query this morning.
Anna
Humble apologies for snaffling the 400 from under your fingers, I thought I was posting 399.
Vegemite is very yucky!!!! Marmite, honestly does not sound much better!!!
I have 2nd cousins near Sydney, I think, never visited there tho, my grands went there a few times! :(
My gal-pal goes every year to visit her bro who married an Aussie gal
maybe some day!! :)
Hi Peajay,
which branch of the fam is it that is in Australia, L's brother??? I've lost track...do you remember...
AJ, and gals....what's with the fluoride scandal in Scotland's water...are the powers that be, really all that bad to the populace??? We have some bad things here, but we have enough environmental types with lobby power to help (and sometimes hinder) things
as well as having some gov. agencies promoting health, nutrition, etc...we don't have the drinking prob, tho...but we do have the gangs and drug cultures
J's brother lives in Oz although one died in May. A very cosmopolitan family aren't they?
Our grands' fam etc were/are a bunch of nomads!!!
AJ, you made peace, sort of, with DRum...very good sportsmanship, there!!
L's brother Dunstan was also in Oz (just been informed by J) so have cousins there too.
Flouride is found naturally in many foods and water supplies, and is also added to some drinking water supplies. One part of flouride for every million parts of water (1 ppm) has been shown to have the best effect. All water contains some flouride.
Children living in pooper areas where the water supplies are not fluoridated can have 5 times more decay than children living in better-off or fluoridated areas. Research suggests that adding fluoride to the water is the best way of reducing these 'dental inequalities'.
Hi Mel,
Are you spying on me with a NASA satellite?:) You aint far away at all, but remember, I face the sea on the promenade!
I felt a wee bit sorry for Bumsfelt at the end, cos I really gave him a few broadsides today and he stayed clear all day really. His opinions were jumping about all over the place, so maybe he isn't quite right as the other ex-serviceman suggested. We'll never know!
Peajay, I'm glad somebody works between the four of us!!:D
Absolutely, AJ, I even saw you on the Promenade with your wee one in the pram!! (just kiddin, it's too blurred in detail to see houses)
holiday today and tomorrow, no school!!! so had more time to play!
that blog went well, all in all, tho I missed the 500 :(
as far as DRum, sometimes he makes sense, then other times, it seems he's just in a temper, so to speak
is military service compulsory in Scotland?? was wondering if you had to serve?
Peajay, why I asked is some of the blogs are linking sites, etc, and talking amongst the original topics...on how flouride is as a poison...you would think I would know of this, but...ah can't know everythin!!!
Mel,
Conscription/National Service ended in 1961, even before I was born. I have worked in military environs almost all my working life. Hence I felt sorry for the guy(if he is exmilitary).
You would see me pushing a buggy and walking twa dugs1:D
I'll be intermittent with my posts tonight, but I'll get on later for sure.
AJ, I should be around till your late eve, 2330 or so, but have the 'obligatory' family dinner tonite as my bro's are coming up for the holiday....sounds worse than it will be, my bro's are all right!!! :))
will catch the chat as I can!! saw you started a football match!!
erm....yes, I reckon that's a first in the history of the internet, what will be interesting is who takes part!!:D
I've gone mad:D
it's all good AJ, ...we can get battered down by the sadness or the frustrations of life, etc...so humour is good, very good!!! :)
deep thinking + fun = productivity...sanity...outside of the box problem solving...
...care to add!!!
fun+fun=productivity with a :)
okay more fun, is well, fun and productive...altho, don't pass off you don't think/feel deeply on issues...I do know you a little bit better now!!! ;)
away for 15 for some algebummer..teen has some homework...
any futbol injuries needing tending to?? :) will have to check when I get back!
AJ, you are incredible!!!...look what you've gotten going there...I'm impressed, very impressed...even DRum joined in!!!!!!
As for the 1000 picture, I vote for something in keeping with the season. Snow would be nice as Anna & myself won't see much, not so sure about AJ (he could be polishing up his snow chains as we speak, for the wee one's buggy of course)
Right, and as it hasn't snowed here in about 7years, and I'm still wearing shorts and tees...white/wintery scenes it is!
I'll be on it tomorrow...I've got a request for Calif hotspot scenery, so I'll look for that too...
...Shrek, don't worry, I may chat with the other fellas now and again...but, my internet dance card belongs to you! :)))
AJ, my bro's aren't here yet, so I'm around...if the futbol has exhausted you, then enjoy your sleep! Will talk with ya later! :))
AJ, okay,I don't mind 'sharing' you here.....but, I'm jealous now, Doreen blew you a kiss in her version of the football match....she's definitely not invited to the dance! ;)))
Tonite was a nice evening of visiting with my new sis-in-laws, a fine cabernet in hand, and the wonderful feeling of holding my 6-week old niece!!
On an odd and surreal note, the backround telly noise was a mix of Madonna's Confessions concert, Ice Hockey, Argentine futbol, and Redneck bowhunting!!!
....and, AJ, you thought you were going mad!!! :D
Good Morning all,
Yesterdays McConnell blog was fun, but it illustrates the amount of time I spend in front of a computer(in patches tho'). It can't be healthy:(
Bumsfelt really blotted his copybook - but you need eejits like him!:)
Melanie, sorry I missed you last night. We started watching City of God - a Brazilian gangster film( the gangsters are all teenagers or younger), but very very violent. Iwoildn't recommend it to you girls because of the storyline, but the film is a masterclass in the use of mis-en-scene>
My class has come in useful afterall!!:)
Doesn't snow much in this neck of the woods, only two or three days a year recently!
Sqn Ldr Anna and Peajay,
How are you both today?
By my reckoning, Doreen is only 39 or 40 - she told me she was born just after the Bible John murders in Glasgow in 1967/68.
Hi AJ, ok what's mis-en-scene?? Your right, I probably would not want to view the film, altho I've read/heard about the street children there...sad, to put it mildly!
perhaps we're all guilty as charged for blogging.... I am, in patches, too!!! I find it energizing,though...the 'verbal'
interaction...lifts ma spirits! :)
Although, I do find myself chafing at the 'have-tos' sometimes, wanting to get back here! :) I'm glad you had a nice eve' with Mrs AJ!! :))
I had extra time last nite, as my bro's arrival ran late...have you been to Central Park?? It was fun looking for photos...didn't think ya'll would want a castle, as they're more frequent your way! I found another fun photo to add, later...something along the lines of our early conversations...it's been fun to reminisce! :)
Nice snowy picture - Melanie...
We got a bit of snow here on Boxing Day last year and the little river near us froze over. Don't know if it will get cold enough this year to do that.
Have you seen the article about the baby animals in the womb? Its on the Sci Tech board - they've got an amazing picture of a baby elephant inside its mum's womb - unbeliveably perfect.
AJ, no doubt you've been to more beautiful beaches in your OZ walk-about, but I had fun re-visiting places I've lived and traveled to, last nite
...you'll prob recog. some places...I've lived by the San Diego/Orange Co beaches; Morro Bay is where we sailed on the tall ships

Hi Anna, I've only dabbled on the politics blog....I think it's almost at 600
Great photograph Melanie, I walked over that bridge in April this year!
I enjoyed Central Park - a very vibrant placeand full of interesting people.
On a more sombre note, I visited Strawberry Fields and got very emotional:(
Straw. fields=John Lennon?
AJ, we were just there this last year as well...did you get over to the Met....I could get 'lost' in there!!!
AJ, I wouldn't recommend a game of fitba on the politics site, it can well be on to the 600 with the fisticuffs, alone...thanks to DRum...I wonder if he/it thrives on that??...how sad
Anna, I will make it over to the sci tech area...the advances in that imaging field stuff are incredible!
AJ, I wasn't discounting the death of John Lennon... that was a tragic loss of a talented man! Musicians and their words/music are what help keep our hearts and spirits going, sometimes!
are you guys posting/reading anywhere....or has work got in the way!! I'm just hanging (hingin?) about
...AJ, I thought hinging/hingin had a negative connotation towards certain females???
I'm around, have some studying to do for a skills class next Mon/Tues :((
Phew, it's getting complicated o0n the politics blog!!:)
Did I really start all this with the 100 racing!?!:D
I'll have a bit of time this evening Melanie for a chat - this time I promise:))
What you up to Anna? I saw the photographs of the baby elephant in an article today - absolutely amazing!!:D
Yes Melanie:DDD
Hingin' is also a pretty derogatory term for women here. You made me faw aff ma set:D
Where did you hear that?:D
people are even more belligerent than yesterday!! I haven't checked back, I was over reading about the elephant! Neat!!!
AJ, on the eagle blog, faye, i think said that you guys left the poor lass hingin...I looked it up, and was quite shocked, I thought it meant, at first, to be just 'hanging about' like we say here...nothing derog.
as, in left me, hingin
I'm slowly learning some of the slang, I don't want to look completely silly...I go back and forth with the spelling, Am vs Br too...depends what I feel like, or remember thru writing/reading letters with Brit. fam
Well, you had a chuckle at my expense!!! Better here than elsewhere, though!! And, thanks for your tutoring, to help keep me 'safe'!!! You too, Anna/Peajay!! :))
I was teased last nite by the Sgt Mjr, 'cause ma southern came out a bit with my wine consumption! Darn that I pick up accents!! ;))
Hi cyber mates....
Well, I've been a bit on the busy side (again) today.
Haven't had time to post much on the Scotsman apart from the elephant baby story... Must make sure I see that programme when its on.... my son will be fasciniated - just hope they don't go into too much detail about how baby got in there in the first place. Awkward questions...:(
Actually I didn't know about hinging either (although I could make a guess) - must be more in use in Scotland than here. Minging and 'she looks like a moose' are some of the putdowns for women also the one I dislike most, which is 'dog'. I find that more nasty than bitch when its used to describe a woman's looks.
Btw: When we were sorting out stuff for the Xmas fayre last night, someone came across a box of mugs with ... guess who on? It was Shrek .... I straightaway thought of you - AJ... :))
Off out tomorrow - Mr A has a day off so we're going Xmas shopping and having lunch out. Its his birthday on Saturday so we're out for dinner in evening - so I've got 2 dates this weekend ;))
We love having our son with us but ... it is nice to get a little time on our own occasionally :D
What fun you've been having getting into the holiday spirit!!! Our xmas franticness traditionally starts tomorrow, as today is Thanksgiving...Pilgrims/Indians/Mayflower stuff, you know!!!
I have to work tomorrow, but I don't fancy the crazy shopping sales that go on, the Fri after
I'm still in shorts and tees...I could be in OZ for the weather here now!!!
I've been having a look at the main politics blog. Can't be bothered, basically, the only interesting bit on there is the chase for the "hundreds" post.
The usual 'lets all blame the English' posters are on there. "They winnae take a Scottish pund note" etc, etc. Has the 'parcel of rogues' thing been mentioned yet? :D
Later on Eve will be back from school to add her 'interesting' and strange comments.
This article hasn't even been mentioned in the English press....... so those posters who think that the English are worried about Scottish independence are totally deluding themselves. Most English folk don't know anything about it.
I think when we used it, we did mean hanging!:D But you're right it can mean what you said!
Anna,
Remember, Shrekkie is the hero, hard as nails, also funny and nails his wumin in the end(so to speak)!!:D
Anna,
You're right, it isn't an issue in England - it will be in Westminster tho'.
Did you get Mr Anna something nice for his birthday - maybe a set of handcuffs!!;))
Anna, when we had just come down from Sco by train, there was English cabby who wouldn't take our Scottish notes...I forget how it worked out, I think another cabby had pity on us and took the notes, but we did get to Peajay's after all...it would have been a long walk!!!! :))
But, I think politically, Sco should be allowed to be separate, yet in alliance with Eng because of the close ties..I know it's really none of my business, tho it is interesting!
AJ, handcuffs??!! hmmm.... ;)
The reason its an issue in Westminster tho' AJ is because Labour rely on Scotland for their majority. Especially the PM in waiting.
Maybe, this is all a cunning plan by Blair to eject Gordon Brown from Westminster. Post independence he would not have an English seat - so he'll have to go home. Bye big Gordie! :))
I don't have a problem with Scottish independence or Welsh or Irish or the Isle of Wight, Melanie.
I would be quite happy to see an English Parliament re-established in England.
I don't and won't vote Labour anyway .... and would be more than happy to see the back of them. If that leads to independence or self determination for the home countries then so be it.
As for the bank note issue - perhaps that is something that the Royal Bank and Bank of Scotland should have taken up with Westminster years ago. Possibly if there was just one Scottish bank note instead of a few the problem wouldn't arise.
"But, I think politically, Sco should be allowed to be separate, yet in alliance with Eng because of the close ties.."
If they all vote SNP ... and the SNP have a referendum on independence and they all vote for that ........ then they will get it.
They have a choice.... its up to them.
My es-pat friends feel similiar, wanting a strong country, but also wanting national identity...my E London friend says he prefers here, and is glad to be quit of the politics of 'back home'...my Irish friend feels for the independence issue, his wife was raised in S. Eng but is Scottish...quite a mix of feelings...everyone just wanting well for family and friends!!!
I'm sure all has/is being taken into consideration economically...getting people to work, off assistance, economic incentives for people to stay and work...I agree about the reciprocity so to speak, but politically, I wonder if the Eng gov would allow it?!
Here, the people vote, as with the illegal immig issue/education funds etc for the illegals, then some judge turns the vote over saying it's against their civil rights...but they're illegal, breaking the law, how can they have these rights??!! It was quite an upset and I believe still under dispute that this judge thwarted the will of the people....
Anna, as always, you have nailed down the issue!
The two would always work closely together, and independance for BOTH countries, shouldn't be seen as a negative step!
It could be the focus that both countries require to get their respective acts together - lets face it, there are many social problems here that need sorting out!
Sorry guys, that was a wee bit of a rant and is in no way directed at Anna :))) It's just how I feel:)
I wouldn't say a rant, AJ, it's quite refreshing to hear you both speak positively towards this issue....it's what Can be done, that needs to be focused on, not the cant's....as with everything, right!
yes, the two countries are so intermingled, but I believe things would be worked out civilly, with the right people in charge...Scotland allowed to be separate and see to its own, would still be a great ally to Eng
Hi All,
Sorry to be joining in late again it's been one of those days and no work achieved. Had to deal with Ikea refunds today, they like to take your money but giving it back means dealing with some very unpleasant rottweiler staff.
Love the new picture Melanie although obviously disappointed it's not the other one (^_~) You'd think he'd have chilled his wee todger to the nub wouldn't ya!!
Happy Thanksgiving.
Melanie,
The 'English' government is a British government at the moment. The soon to be Prime Minister is a Scotsman who represents a Scottish seat. This is not just a case of English politicians trying to hang onto their jobs there are plenty of Scots politicians who are willing and pro-active partners on the gravy train.
At present, the majority of top jobs in the British cabinet are taken by Scotsmen.
True, AJ?
apologies, Anna, quite right...there are gravy train hanger-ons regardless of Scots/Engs nationality...unfortunately hasn't that been a key problem, thruout history...
Hi Peajay, I didn't want to post that photo, however delcious, because I didn't want to offend our guy-pal!! Anna, the photo was quite a treat...I'll look back to the google address so you can have a peek! :))
I'm not sure if it's quite a majority, but they have all the top jobs - TB doesn't regard himself as Scottish and I respect that:))
What's with the dirty photos girls?
AJ, in my winter wonderland of google searches, I came across a photo that I then forwarded to Peajay, Anna would have gotten it too, if I had her e-mail...
it was of a young, buff, buck snowboarding with Only a Santa hat on...there was a Poinsetta in the appropriate place....
Are you away to home, soon, AJ??
... I need to step away for a while, but will check back for any postings, all!!
close to the 500...
Anna, a sort of ps...I didn't mean as a negative that I didn't have your e-mail...it was meant as, since you're a gal-pal you would've been on the list to recieve the funny/naughty! :)
That's alright Melanie - I wasn't offended in any way.
I'll apologise, now if I was being a bit too strong worded about the politics thing...... I know this is a friends blog and not the same as the Scotsman... where I can (and do) word things more aggressively.
I think a couple of the posters on the Scotsman irritated me with their anti-English stance ... I'm sure its the same for you Melanie when the anti-Americans thing comes out with a few on there.
I know the problems is not just confined to Scotland ..... we have many bigots alive and well in England too.
Also, AJ ..... none of this is directed at you ...... you're on my list of favourite and nicest Scottish people. :))
Good grief - I must be getting soft in my old age ....... maybe it was the glass of wine I've just had! ;))
Go on Anna, claim that 500 as your own.
I'm having the 500 Peajay, thank you!
I've just bagged the 800 on the Scotsman .... got in front of all the male posters........ Yes!!:))
AJ - less of the veteran ..... :D Just 'cos you got whupped by a woman for the 800!! :))
This is completely mad ... but I feel really chuffed about getting it?
Tell me are we all insane?
Congrats Anna!!
I've had a request for a favorite winter recipe from my weans, as the winds have become quite blustery and the temp has dropped quited a bit...no teeshirts today!
it's a very nice spice cake, good with tea or coffee...'Cowboy Coffee Cake'...will have to translate the recipe into metric for ya'll, or are you familiar with American measuring amounts??
If you can translate it Melanie ... it would be easier for me. I never really get the cup thing with American recipes right.
Unless you just tell me what a cup relates to and then I could work it out from there.:))
Anna .... the 8 hundred champion :D
will do, Anna, btb, it's okay about the vent/rant thing...we're all mature/respectful enough to work out any differences, I think!! :D
Congrats Anna.
American Cup Conversions
American Imperial Metric
1 cup flour 5oz 150g
1 cup caster and granulated sugar
8oz 225g
1 cup brown sugar
6oz 175g
1 cup butter/margarine/lard
8oz 225g
1 cup sultanas/raisins
7oz 200g
1 cup currants 5oz 150g
1 cup ground almonds
4oz 110g
1 cup golden syrup
12oz 350g
1 cup uncooked rice
7oz 200g
1 cup grated cheese
4oz 110g
1 stick butter 4oz 110g
Hope that helps.
Thanks for those conversions, Peajay - I've copied them and will put them in my fave cake cook book. That's brilliant....... because occasionally I have a good American recipe and have a problem with the cup thing. But, that's sorted now :D
Plus, it saves our American Correspondent (Melanie :)) to her friends) having to worry about conversions when she posts a nice recipe...
All so near the 1000 yet so far!!
The politics blog actually went to a 1000 Anna/Peajay!!
thanks for the conversions, Peajay!! It will make things easier!!
AJ, sorry, I had to post on the blog to try for the 1000!!! ah couldnae help myself!!
I tried for the 1000, Melanie, but only got 1005 but I was closer than you AJ........ :))
The game you invented is becoming a monster.....
Oh no AJ - I've just noticed that you got 1003.... Rats you beat me...
Actually, I'm surprised the site didn't crash with the amount of hits it must have been getting.
i'm in hysterics right now!!!! that was soooo fun!!!
gosh, i need to get out more!!!
Phew, thank goodness it's over!!:D
\(^0^)/ Heh!Heh! Melanie, to funny.
AJ, what are we to do?? How can we continue in the madness of it all!!! ;)))
Ps. the Karen M and the Duhks song, what was the album...I can't find it
AJ, I must be losin it...I actually asked you, in a public forum, if I could come out of the kitchen!!!! But you were awfully sweet the way ya shooed me out of there and away from the other more coarse gents!!! ;))
Well done everyone for the fun, although I thought Peajay could have appeared out of the blue!
It really took off that one, I can't believe it - probably about 30-40 people were involved - it's mad.
Anna the 800 gal!!!:D
Do you think it will die now? What is good, I've got stronger cyber-bonds with three or four different guys. Oh and an arch enemy in Mr Bumsfelt!:D
I tried but by the time the page refreshed it had reached 1010. Bum!!
Melanie, I was thinking of your delicate character!:)
I don't know where we go from here on the Scotsman blog! Maybe time to get serious and quote statistics!!;)
Peajay,
There were 20 or so hits in the period of a minute! You do provide the sanity on this blog - I mean that in a good way!!:)
I wonder how many of us will get kicked off the Scotsman for being naughty?
I know what you mean tho' I could feel the tension as I tried to time my run to get the 1000 prize...
It is completely bonkers isn't it?
Nothing like sharing a unique and tense experience to draw people 'closer' together!!! :)
I appreciate it, AJ...I do want to be serious and chat/discuss on certain issues...I just need to rearrange my wording so I don't get flirted with...that's only allowed with you!!!! :))
I actually felt disappointed when I didn't get it ..... Help me doctor...!! :D
Thanks AJ, I feel such a grown up.:D
Yeah you don't want to get yourself a reputaton, Melanie, ... on cyber man at a time ... gal! :D
I quite like Menzies from Canada - he always posts a hello when we're on the same thread :))
AJ .... you can still be my sparring partner tho'
I can't believe I was 1002, not that I'm flaunting that, mind you!!!
well, we can all relax, now!!! Have a glass of wine....
Anna, to be honest, I never intended to flirt, I was being friendly and trying to add into the humour...as is considered okay here, amongst my friends/aquaintances, and as a few years back when I chatted in American chat rooms...guess I just need to learn the 'species' over the pond better!
Menzies is nice, yes
I'm quite happy to flirt with my Shrek, and no other!!! :)))
You all will be heading to beddy-by soon...we have an afternoon meal over at my mother's for the holiday, around my 1530..so I'll be around here a bit yet
will get you that recipe, soon, it's yummy
Anna, I'm forever at your service, especially when you feel the need to verbally ravage me!!;)
Melanie, it's your Southern accent, it actually comes across on these message boards - or maybe that's just me:D
Peajay, you just keep us right, cos your an adult, and know the correct etiquette that should be considered!:D
I enjoy the verbal parry and thrust AJ ..... and that's not an invitation for a double entendre btw ;)) Oh go on if you must...:D
Duncan on tour on the politics board is a bit of an eejit....
Not one of my favoured cyber men..
There are some very interesting individuals on there...you wonder what they're really like....
right about the accent, AJ, it probably does set the 'wheels' in motion a bit...and here I'm naively just having fun!!! ;)
Melanie, I always remember Jerry Hall saying what her mothers advice was on marriage! It was how she said it as well as what she said!!
Sorry about the heavy sexual overtone!
Is Jerry a Texan?
I believe she is from Texas, but I'm not really familiar with her life/Jagger thing nor familiar with the 'advice' you're referring to, altho, I can infer what you mean...no need to explain and be caused discomfort...I can google the specifics later :))
Was it a cook in the kitchen and a whore in the bedroom or something along those lines?
Have I lowered the tone?
Yup! :D) Any lower and we'll be gutter bound. :) Should we be shocked that you knew the answer to that one Anna?
no Anna, you've just saved me google time!!!! and, have given me quite a chuckle!!!....oh, do I dare say that's excellent advice!!! not that I want to lower any tone!!!!
AJ, your wonderful...thanks for being polite!!! :))
good one Peajay!!!! ooh!!!
my family thinks I'm crazy...just bantering with ya'll, but this is too fun!!! Will have to make it up to the fam later today, and give them all my attention!!!!
That's correct Anna, sound advice don't, ya think!?!?:))
sorry that was me...I need to get away from the mama bear thing...that was a fam thing, and doesn't fit here...you know...protective like a mama bear!
Anyway...
what I was saying....
you all are going at still on the politics blog, wow!
What did you think about Terry-somebody and the US conspiracy...I'm always hearing rumours, etc...it's hard to know what to believe...
did I just make the topic, serious, sorry!!!
AJ, it's excellent advice...and a smart woman surely will follow it!!!
Mind you old Jerry didn't manage to take her own advice and keep her claws into Mick did she?
Maybe she wasn't a very good cook...:DD
I'm having a hard time following who is who there on the politics blog, with that Marie Antoinette clone...
AJ, anyone who would manipulate to deceive, is not worth the time!!!
Anna, funny, you're right!! No doubt a female like that, would be rather self-centered/self-absorped, that's why he went elsewhere..to something warmer!!! :)))
Perhaps, Jerry didn't give Mick 'No Satisfaction' ... and he went elsewhere...
Auld Mick has put it about a bit tho' hasn't he?
Anna, you're on a roll....AJ, where are you, your missin it!!!
Well, guys, fam duties call...I need to get going here!!! Will no doubt have to make amends, and suffer sitting thru some American football, with a certain signif other!!! :)) (it certainly is better than sitting thru baseball, though!!!)
Great chat day all in all!!! Fun with my cyber-pals as always!!
Will catch up with you later on!!
Well Anna, if I was in his shoes....
The incredible thing was, he nicked Jerry from the super suave Bryan Ferry!
Ae Fond Kiss, Melanie is on an album called Hands across the Ocean - a compilation of a festival that took place fairly recently - I'll find out more for you soon!....promise :)
Yes, I used to quite like Bryan Ferry when he was with Roxy Music...
They had that really posey photo taken together and then ..... she ran off with Auld Mick ... never trust the Angel Eyes of a Honky Tonk Woman...
Maybe Mick dumped her because she put too much Brown Sugar on his cornflakes.....
Right that's it they're getting worse .... must go to bed,
Night, night all :))
Off to bed too. A very enjoyable evening thank you all.
OÃche mhaith.
Hi everyone
Having a quiet day today, the last couple have been ridiculous although good fun! I noticed Doreen said she would have to seek advice on her addiction to the hunnerbagging, but he would have to make a home visit!:)
I think the hunnerbagging won't reach those heights again.
good morning AJ
I think we'd be exhausted if the momentum were kept up!! It has been fun :)
I have to work today, so I will have some keyboard respite from being tempted to post on the Scotsman
Sat will be a housecleaning and a prep for our holiday party the following Sat...I actually do my 'spring cleaning' now, before the holidays :/
Have a great weekend all, in case ah miss ya! :))
Have a good one Cyberbabe!:)
Hi all,
Posted anywhere today?
I just had a look at the Tony Blair blog from yesterday - its up to 1290 now.....
There's some right muppets on there arguing away....still
Anything else happening?
Hi Anna,
Can't raise the enthusiasm for the Scotsman today! I can't even be bothered to have a pop at Mr Bumsfelt:(
How's you anyroad?
Are you ready for your date?
Got time to buy a new frock?
Is it gonna be Italian, Indian, Chinese, Thai or just good old English country cooking?
Hi AJ
I've posted something on the board about the English Regional Assemblies idea dreamed up by Clarke.....
Picked up a new top today .... so I'll probably wear that..:))
We're going to a local hotel/restaurant, where the food is very nice and they serve my favourite .... Moules Marinere - so I'll be having that :))
Also, its walking distance from us - so we don't need to worry about driving or getting a taxi or something.
What are you up to this weekend?
Hi All
Just thought I'd pop in before going out for evening. Off to Albert Hall Concert tonight so will blog tomorrow. Hope all ok, if I miss any of you have a good weekend. :)
That guy Bumsfelt is wierd .... how many names does he have?
Have a nice time Peajay...
Albert Hall .... you lucky thing - what are you going to listen to?
Well, not much on really - getting a new front garden path laid. I had to pick up a vibrating plate(big machine) today and aggravated the shoulder again! :(
Mrs AJ is working this weekend, so I'll have the wee wan all weekend :) Gonna visit a few people too.
Oh, I'm going for a pint or five on Saturday night with my mate who lives in New York!:)))
So it's not all bad :)
Careful of your shoulder - AJ - don't go overdoing it - I really mean that :))
If you put your shoulder out again - you might not be able to use your keyboard...... and I'd have nobody to argue with next week :(
Is that Neil from New York you're going out with? Have a nice time - what's your favourite drink down the pub? Lager, bitter or buckfast? :D
I'm not that keen on beer - I don't mind a weak lager shandy but that's about it.
Anna, it is indeed Neil, and I'll be enjoying the delights of the Guinness family offering:))
We'll also have a few Millers in the house before we head out :))
Once we come back, I dare say the Malt might take a hit or two! :)))
However, with my parental duties, it can't be a big one!! The bairn has no sympathy at 7am when she wants her breakfast:D
Melanie,
The album was Hands across the Ocean - a combination of Celtic and American Folk - I think I'll download the whole album. There are quite a few interesting artists and loads I've never heard of(which is even better!).
Have a great weekend :)x
Oops, the kiss was a wee joke.....honest:))
Sending kisses now, AJ...... so sweet... Melanie will be all of a dither next time she looks on here :D
I'm really starting to feel like a gooseberry now ..:D
Have a good weekend .... cyber folk...
Might catch you on here sometime during it....:))
My, you are in a flirtacious and affectionate mood there, sir....why, thank you!! ;))
I may need a moment or two, to recover, if you'll pardon me!! :)
Well, I'm somewhat recovered...though ma cheek is still tinglin! ;)
Anna, no gooseberries!, though I think you're right to lecture about the shoulder...musn't overdo it....should allow it time to rest and heal...
...which means don't overdo it Sat. lifting those heavy pints!!!
And, no talkin too much about your cyber-gals!! ;)
I might be in NJ this winter to see my 94 yr old grand (L's bro, Peajay)...since we'll have the kids, I want to go up to Manhattan, afterwards...I may get to take my own photo of the Central Pk bridge!! I'm hoping to go back to the Met/Museum (not theater)...the place I could get lost for hours, days, weeks....send a search team!!! ;))
AJ, did you go to Kennedy's Irish Pub when you were in Manhattan??!!! Last visit, we had a great time there...mighty Craic (chat) with the locals, and a few pints bought for us,too!! :))
Can chat on and off Anna/Peajay, if you're around Sat
AJ, enjoy your time with your friend!!
erm....I think the Scotsman site is going through a reform! I hope it was nothing to do with the hunnerbagging! But I fear it might be - it could also be the multi-named Mr Bumsfelt's contribution!
I spent a wee while baiting Mr Bumsfelt - childish and not much fun:(
Hope you guys are well and have a great weekend!
Hi Melanie
I've never been to New York - its on the 'to do' list... :)) My sis in law took her husband there for his fortieth last year... they had a great time ... so she's whetted my appetite.
Its Mr A's 43rd birthday today ... he's my toy boy!! Altho' 3 years isn't very much .... one of my friends is on her second marriage to a man 11 years her junior. Shes' in her mid to late thirties and he's in his mid twenties. Not sure if I'd be happy in that situation .... I think she feels a bit of pressure to act and dress younger than she is ...
How did the Albert Hall concert go, Peajay?
AJ ..... hope your little'un is not giving you the runaround too much today!! I looked after a friend's nearly 3 year old the other day for a couple of hours. She's adorable but, you forget how much attention they need.... :))
Have fun...
Oh dear, AJ .... I've just tried to post a comment on the Scotsman and I can't get on. There have been no comments at all on any of their new articles, so they must be doing it to everyone...!
It must have been the hunnerbagging game and the arguing that did it...
I've just posted a comment on one of yesterday's political boards ... but they don't seem to be allowing comments on todays topics at all. They all have 0 comments next to them.... :((
Oh no, is the end of the fun for the naughty children....:(
Hopefully Anna, it's a cooling off period and perhaps some of us might be banned. I'll fall on the sword happily if evryone else is allowed back on.
Of course Mr Bumsfelt should walk the plank too as he seemed to be the catalyst for the bad blood!
So far, there's just a couple of drawers been emptied, because I'm doing this for 5 mins:))
Yes, it could be a cooling off period ........ we'll see what happens.
Mind you, I know its a bit naughty to do the hunnerbagging thing but at least people are interested in their website and it raises the profile of the paper.
Maybe, they're going to do complete moderation like the Times and Telegraph do. You can post comments in their debate section but they don't guarantee to publish them.... Altho' I've always managed to get mine on.... you have to behave yourself more on their boards.... Stuffed shirts!!
Possibly, the Scotsman was getting a lot of complaints from other users of the site.
I suppose its difficult for them - they want lively debate but they don't want a free for all ... especially when it starts getting nasty......... like Bumsfelt..
Ah well, you can always change your email (again!) and get back on some other way if they ban you and let other comments back on.:D
I've posted a sort of apolgy on the Russian spy story from yesterday(The Bumsfelt baiting one).
I think they might go down the road of the Times and Telegraph!
At least we have this, but it's maybe not the same as a good micky take or argument on the Scotsman!:)
Right, got to go and rescue Mr's AJ's shoe collection!!:D
Good grief.... I've just looked at Bumsfelt, Echelon's comments to you on that Russian blog .... what a nasty person he is...:((
No sense of humour and a massive chip on his shoulder about nationalists, also his language leaves a lot to be desired. I've seen comments removed for a lot less than the f word written in full.
Anyway, he's wrong about you going on about the 300 year marlarkey - I'd have pulled you up for that long ago if you did :)) I know its the future of Scotland that you're worried about not the past!
Ooh, little 'un's got the shoes out .... better hide them - does she try and walk about in the high heels? Bless her they love to dress up don't they?
Perhaps, it is just a glich on the Scotsman ..... because they do often get some good comments and debates on there.
They need to ban the Bumsfelt guy..!
You don't think its David from TX do you? He was an ardent Unionist ... and could get quite abusive if crossed, plus he had zero sense of humour. :(
I think he's wrong about almost everything, he has JG down as an ardent nationalist, which is isn't. He accuses us of being anti-English, which we aren't. Give me strength!!:(
Nevermind, I'm sure it'll be sorted out - he's back on the Russian blog.
I did bait him on purpose yesterday as you read(which I'm not proud of), and let him rant his wee head off!
The wee wan is under control now after a hard mornings rampage!!:)))
Well you might have baited him a bit, yesterday but he definitely over reacted... Is he Arthur as well?
I thought Arthur was OK...
JG is a Unionist - I've seen him arguing the case for the Union on the politics blogs before.
Ah well .......... we'll have to wait and see what happens....:))
Anna,
I've taken an unprecedented step by complaining to the Scotsman about Bumsfelt!
Hopefully that'll be that, or am I being overly optimistic?
Enjoy your day and night with your toyboy!
Anna, you have a toyboy, I'm impressed!! Mine is always teasing about having married an older woman, but in reality, I'm only about 5 months older! I agree about your friend having the pressure to keep things up; the reality of time, child bearing, etc...I hope for her sake, he's mature, and in love/friendship enough to give her some grace!!
When you go to New York, there's the Plays, the Museum, Central Park, Empire State Bldg (where you can see the Statue of Lib in the harbor), and the humbling experience of ground zero...but you should also visit the Lego Toystore...it has 3 or 4 floors, an amusement ride that vertically spanned 2 or 3 floors in the open center of the store, full size Lego creations....absolutely incredible!!...and we had no small children with us, yet we were sort of as chilren, if that makes sense...we did our holiday shopping early!! :))
Peajay, how was your event?
AJ, thanks for the album info, will have a look...I don't have itunes, the music subcrip we have is sort of limited, but will check...I may have to cough up the pennies and just order the CD, it does sound very good...I like that combo of sound!
I'm away to read the Scotsman...you're right about enjoying the debate, I hope that's not removed completely!
Hi Melanie
Thanks for the info about New York :)) The Lego Store sounds fab and definitely worth a visit with or without kids..
Still no comments on today's Scotsman articles .... they haven't even published any that have gone thro' the moderator. Maybe, its only the weekend porter there on Saturdays and all the rest of the staff are at home.
Watching the rugby ... AJ?
As I write Australia 13 Scotland 10...
England 14 South Africa 3
So looks like the wallabies are on top and the spingboks are getting stuffed .... at the moment anyway!
Wish that England were doing so well in the cricket but they are getting a right pasting from the Aussies at the moment. :((
Anna, I'm here reading thru yest Russian blog....Bumsfeld is Arthur, how sad, esp after the funny history lesson he did on the other blog, oh well...I did get the funny feeling of a huffy brush off, like a Bumfeld pout, when I told Arthur I was 'spokin fer'....maybe it twisted the knife, AJ, as it's been obvious, I've got the cyber-connection with you!! :)
I love a good rugby game!! ...they're very hard to find on the channels here, even with our satellite subscrip. :(
I think there may be a problem at the Scotsman because they haven't removed a couple of the posts on yesterday's Russian story .. where Bumsfelt is swearing ... which is unusual for them.
Well, the guy certainly seems a bit strange and thinks there is a gang of people out to get him.... very odd..
yes, you wonder about some people. It's a shame, too, because he was actually funny/informative as Arthur...it's just when he loses his temper, I think, that the beast comes out... Like David from Texas, used to get...
I think we've lucked out here with our group!! I know there was some dance and testing in the beginning, but it's turned out well! :))
Anna, in some of my reading back on the posts, I think a Bumsfeld persona was also responding back harshly with you on various blogs, probably because of the 'AJ-connection'!! :)
What was the wicked witch saying when Dorothy throws water past the Scarecrow onto her....'what a world, what a world!" :))
Hi All
Sorry for late entry again, not on top form today after last night and the usual work.
The concert was Classical Spectacular with the Royal Philharmonic, Band of the Welsh Guards and The Philharmonic Choir. Excellent stuff but a bit jingoistic, flag waving in parts. (Don't get me wrong it has it's place, but it was out of keeping with some of last nights music). Truly fabulous 1812 with muskets firing and fireworks.
Are you going to R's big birthday bash, Melanie?
Hi Peajay, I'm not sure I can get off from work for the actual party, if I go in Jan, it will have to be in-between work days, with perhaps one day off, if they'll let me have it...they're very stingy when it comes to that and I'm already asking for two days off (to complete a week away) for our wedd. anniv. It might be easier in Feb, but def needs to be soon.
R's health is fading, esp this last year, and he really wants to see all his grands and great-grands, understandibly so....I think, you could say, he's ready...and wants to feel at ease with all of the hugs and farewells seen to, so to speak; his family is what keeps him going
this is very sad, hard for me as he is a link to my already passed father, but I've more-or-less come to terms with it...I know you understand, I have fond memories of meeting and spending time with Auntie L !! :)
Sorry Anna/AJ, perhaps I should have put this in an e-mail...but I'm sure you've had similiar experiences, and understand, too
That's no problem with me - Melanie. I understand about the contact/link thing.:))
My dear Dad died 13 years ago and I still miss him, which is another reason why I started researching his family tree - to stay in touch with him a bit... and I know it sounds odd but you understand what I mean by that.
The concert does sound fabulous tho Peajay, even if it was a bit jingoistic ... the music must have been lovely...:))
Who else do you think Bumsfelt has pretended to be? He's definitely got a down on AJ, Dave and JG ... but a lot of there posts were said in fun, so I think it could be David from TX, because he could never take a joke, either...
Well, both home rugby teams got stuffed by the tourists ...... England 14 South Africa 25, Scotland 15, Australia 44.
Wales are been thoroughly trounced by a very, very strong New Zealand side. Mind you, the All Blacks (NZ) are the most entertaining team to watch at the moment.:))
So, AJ won't be celebrating a Scotland victory when he's down the pub tonight...
Melanie & Peajay
Are you able to get onto the main Scotsman articles?
They show up as no comments on my board.... I'm just wondering because that Echelon character is claiming that he can get his views on ..... but I haven't seen him on any of today's main articles: Tony Blair, Sean Connery
Hi Anna, my ex-pat Kiwi friend is an avid All-Blacks watcher/follower!! My American gal-pals used to scoff at Rugby in favor of Amfootball...till my Kiwi friend, much to the horror of his modest American wife, showed up to our holiday costume party last year in some very short Xmas colored plaid type Rugby shorts, and his All-Blacks jersey!!! He was quite a hit (esp with the ladies)!!!! (his parents were Scots, and I've heard they can be quite flamboyant when they chose to be!! ;)))
Anna, Peayay knows this, but our grands are/were very much the British country-gentlepersons, so to speak, with wonderful dispositions and a wit to match...
I apologise if I've told this story before...one time when my grandf and I were shopping, he was in his early 80's, we happened upon an antique store. After a walk about the shop, he turned to me and said, there are items in here, that I remember from my youth...am I really that old!!! :))
The family heritage search is a wonderful and healthy way, all in all, to stay connected...that is why I too, have chosen to do it for both sides of my fam. :)
Anna, last I looked, all the comments were 0...I haven't tried to get a post on, though
Anna,
if you go to haggishunt.com you can see a webcam of Times Square. I've been to that electronics store,...and have called friends/fam on my cell phone and waved at them. My Amer. cousin does the same when she is in NY on business....it sounds childish, I know, but it is fun!!!
Peajay, are you 'haggis hunting' again this year with me?!?! :))
I'll have a look at that site, tomorrow, Melanie ... it sounds good :))
We're off out soon - for Mr A's birthday... so I'll speak to you on Sun - if you're about? :))
Btw: The All Blacks won!! Unless something changes radically they will win the Rugby World Cup next year!! :))
AJ - its you that Bumsfelt/Echelon X has a problem with .... He says its all your fault.... He's still moaning about you on that Russian board... you really got to him :))
I think he has a problem because he keeps making threats - silly wee boy that he is ....
I also think the moderator has gone to the rugby for the day and thats why nobody can get a comment on :DD
Anyway, cyber pals ..... until tomorrow ... :))
Have a good evening Anna.
Hi, here's the recipe, and as I was too lazy to read back for Peajay's wonderful conversions....:))
1oz = 28 grams
1fluid oz = 30 ml
1 teaspoon = 4-5g/(5ml)
Cowboy Coffee Cake
2 1/2 c (560g) all-purpose flour
2c (448g) brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2/3c (150g) shortening/Crisco
-mix till crumbly, then set aside appr 115g
to remaining mix add:
2tsps baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1cup (240ml) milk
2 beaten eggs
pour batter equally into two 8inch (20cm) round cake pans, sprinkle remaining crumb mix over top
bake 25-30 minutes at 375F/190C
Serve warm :)
Good morning all!! I hope you all had nice evenings!!!
I have to work Sunday, but will check for any 'weekend' reports in my morning!! :))
Ae fond kiss AJ...oops, forgot the comma :) is on its way to my house. I had to buy it, no downloads avail, but Amz.com has deals for used-like new, and I've had good success with them...so, thanks for the info!! I look forward to hearing the various artists! :))
So, posting is alive and well on the Scotsman...well, at least for Sunday??!!
forgot to add that 1cup =8 ounces
interesting looking articles today there, that'll have to wait for my later
or, per AOL's top news... I could take the CIA Personality quiz..."CIA Goes for Comedy With Personality Test...
Agency Uses Online Quiz to Recruit, Dispel Myths"..."The results from the CIA's personality quiz are just a few clicks away, diagnosing test takers as daring thrill-seekers, thoughtful observers, curious adventurers, innovative pioneers or impressive masterminds."
...that surely gives quite a sense of well-being as to who's running our government; will they be arranging internet dates, next?!!! :)
Thanks for the recipe - Melanie - it looks very tasty and fairly easy .... just my kind of thing :D
We've been out most of the day, so no chance to look at the Scotsman - but I see the comment boards are open on the Sunday one, anyway.
Martha is slugging it out with AJ's pal Echelon X/Bumsfelt. AJ has been mentioned!! He really has got a thing about you ... AJ :))
Hopefully catch up with everyone tomorrow....:))
Hi All
Have been out craft fair-ing today (not a great one and will be knocked off the next year list!)
Hope all are well.
How was Mr A's birthday dinner Anna, I hope it went well.
Hi guys,
Sorry I've AWOL again, this time it was the Mother-in-Law's birthday - we went out for a meal in a really good Italian in South Queensferry, overlooking the two bridges. Then a shopping trip to Edinburgh - new shoes for Mish Mash!
How are you all?
Any stuff going on in the Scotsman:) I had awee look this morning and my arch enema was still going strong. I think we might spend a fair bit of time on it, but we're just amateurs, in comparison to Bumsfelt!:D
Hi AJ
Bumsfelt is a complete nutter. Did you decide he was definately Arthur amongst many others? I complained about his language to the scotsman and nothing happened, don't quite understand that. He really has the knives out for you.
Was it something you said maybe? :D
